What are some beauty tips on how a woman become sexier?

Sexuality comes from within. If I see two women...one completely smoking and one who's average, I'll go for the average woman who's sexual, self-assured and open-minded over the brainless bimbo. What are some beauty tips on how a woman become sexier?
If you feel sexy you are sexyWhat are some beauty tips on how a woman become sexier?
Stand up straight, look people in the eye, and (most importantly) project confidence.
    first of all, self-confidence!!

to be sexy you gotta feel sexy!!! so dance naked in front of a mirror with not too much light!!!!

smoky eyes have always been super sexy!!! messy hair and a lip plumper!!!
Go to www.sephora.com it is a great website and full of tips and trends.
sexy is an inside job...if u like who u are an live a positive live that is very sexy
YOUR ATTITUDE SHOULD PROJECT CONFIDENCE WITHOUT BEING IN YOUR FACE .... A BEAUTIFUL ATTITUDE MAKES A WOMAN BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE . SEXY WORKS THE SAME WAY ,, WALKING AROUND SHOWING HALF YOUR BODY OFF IN SKIMPY CLOTHES ISN'T SEXY ,, IT' S TRASHY ... GOOD LUCK
Believe in yourself and know you are sexy. You will exhibit more sexiness that way. Also, if you have great legs, show them off with a little black skirt. Great chest.....wear a lower neck line.......great face.....well, enough said there....Anyway, the main thing is to exude it through your walk, how you talk, and how you present yourself to a room. Hope this helps
confidence is the best sexifier. just walk into a room, confident, radiant, and see how many men instantly find you sexy

men seem to like smoky eyes. in a dim place, the mystery is undeniable and seething with sex. lip gloss will make your lips look really kissable. apply some glitter to your cleavage, your legs, your collar bones. not a lot, you don't want to look like a disco ball, but a little makes you glow
    Attitude: Smile and be confident.
    be yourself

Do you think beauty has something to do with gettin hired?

Does being pretty gives you a advantage of getting hired at a job over someone who is butt ugly?...and lets say both women have a pretty good education and job history.Do you think beauty has something to do with gettin hired?
It depends somewhat on the situation, but generally looking good opens a lot of doors. People respect you more, and frankly are more interested in having you on their team. Many studies have shown this.

Possible exception: If the decision maker is a woman, then they might hesitate to hire someone that looks a lot better than they do. But, I don't think this happens often. Even plain looking women usually favor good looking women.

In terms of beauty, there is a difference between looking really good in a business appropriate way, versus looking trashy or trying to hard to be sexy. I would not hire someone that looked a bit trashy. I would question if they are serious about the job and understand what is appropriate at work.

The important thing to remember is, you have a lot of control over how good you look. Most ';butt ugly'; people could look a lot better. Wear neat, good looking, stylish - but not vampy clothes. Women, use the right amount of makeup that makes you look good, but does not make you look made up. Women and men, spend a little bit of money to get your hair looking good.

Finally, you are a unique wonderful valuable person committed to doing a great job. With that spirit of confidence you will look a whole lot better.

Also, looks will be a tie breaker if two candidates have almost the same qualifications. But, if you speak well (with quiet confidence) and listen well, and demonstrate a motivated attitude, that will overshadow the impact of looks.Do you think beauty has something to do with gettin hired?
yes. esp. if the interviewer is single and looking!
It depends highly on the employer. But all I can say is that their chances of getting a job is higher if compare with those who are butt ugly.
depends on the employer.. and the type of job your doing.. but in all. i would have to say that yes sex appeal is a essence these days in most professions. and its not just education either.. ts your personality.. you could be as smart as a Nobel prize winner.. but you could be boring like a paper bag. that's why they have interviews. and yes. to see what you look like also.

there are alot of factors you have to look at.. i just named a few of them
It depends on who is doing the hiring.
Yes. But being pretty has a disadvantage as well. Ugly girls get more respect from other girls than pretty ones becuase they don't cause a competative feeling in the other girls. My experience with men and being a pretty girl is that a group of men will keep a pretty girl around not because they think shes all that smart, they'll keep her around for something beautiful to look at. The downside to it is that the only thing she ever got credit for is her looks and not her mind. Pretty girls (the ones that are shy) are the loneliest people you'll ever meet.
you are HOT, ill hire you lady.

    dondie, jus kiddin.
Personality is something that they go by more then beauty.

A woman鈥檚 beauty confers more power upon the man who holds it than the woman who possesses it - Agree/disagree?

I heard this quote from a youtube video and am curious what people think. Do men benefit more from female beauty than a woman does herself? Is our obsession with beauty linked to our human craving for power?A woman鈥檚 beauty confers more power upon the man who holds it than the woman who possesses it - Agree/disagree?
Yes. Men especially (although women too to an extent) are judged by the ';attractiveness'; of the woman they can ';keep';. Thus, the power of a woman's beauty is only valid in a relationship or if a powerful man can give her things because of it. A man's power, something like income, is dependent only on himself. A woman's beauty is worth nothing in a vacuum with no one to judge her or reward her. If a beautiful woman is thusly dating a subpar man (in looks, income, or otherwise), the colloquial muttering is ';what a waste';. What a waste indeed! For if a woman's beauty is her only bargaining chip, settling down with someone that society thinks undeserving of the possession of such a girlfriend or wife means that she is not using her looks, and that they are worthless. It does, however, mean that his social standing is boosted by attracting and ';keeping'; a woman that some would say is ';out of his league';. The same is not for women who date someone ';out of their league';. .They are gossiped about, and he is assumed to be whipped. Or it is assumed that he is cheating on her and she's just too stupid to care.A woman鈥檚 beauty confers more power upon the man who holds it than the woman who possesses it - Agree/disagree?
This is a multi faceted question if a man ';owns'; a woman of great beauty and she is willing to be used for his sake and his power. (sex pawn, personal spy ect)

Then yes I agree that he will benefit more then she however she believes that she gets equal power/profit when in fact she does not.

If a man like Trump just wants a pretty face at his side to show off his power then again yes he profits more then she as she again is just being used but also again she will be lead to believe she is getting equal power/profit off it.

these are pretty much the only two instances in which the man gets more then the woman. (that immediately come to mind)

However I don't have much pity for such women who are willing to use and be used in such a manner.
a woman's beauty definitely confers more power upon the man who holds it.

the fact is, there are plenty of women whom men consider beautiful. it is really nothing special. if a hot woman dumps a hot guy, he will simply go get himself another hot woman. but if the hot guy dumps the hot woman, it won't be as easy to find a hot guy who will want her.

also, not to mention, men tend to disagree on which woman is thee hottest, whereas women tend to all be obsessed with the same men. why do you think you always find hot women in relationships with abusive jerks? it's because a hot guy has more power than a hot woman so will treat her any way he wants. and when it comes right down to it, women who try to use their beauty put themselves above others don't deserve any better.
Yes! But its all fake, you just have to know how to balance it and how to use it.

When I go out with a physical specimen of perfection, i get treated like I'm king. End of story, everyone pretends to be your friend, buy you drinks... let you into vip... but you can't let it go to your head as if they ';really like me';! Or that there is anything more to that girl then her looks.

Be a good dancer and maker her look pretty/sexy when she moves, entertain her, keep a cool head and not start fights when a million guys come hitting on her when you are holding hands... cuz its gonna happen... all the while everyone has the one question on their mind, ';what's he got!? He must be rich! He much hit dat right! He must... blah blah'; and then doors open up for you because people assume you are the sh*t.

Treat her good, cuz at the end of the night (or before) it will come back to you 10 fold.
I don't see how that works out. It anything SHE is the one with the so called ';power'; since it's her looks and if she knew how to wield it, could use the ';power'; for herself.

If she ';loses'; the power to a man then it's her fault for not knowing what to do with it.
No way. He is most likely paying for that beauty one way or another. The chick is just getting extra of everything because she's hot. That doesn't mean that they aren't really in love or whatever, but she benefits much more than the man usually.
Ludicrous. If there is any ';power'; in a woman's beauty, it is hers, not anyone who she favours. People might envy a man with a beautiful woman, but if she leaves him, he is no longer impressing people, so who has the power?
first of all women benefit from it more because they get manipulate men with it and second of all women are the same as men when it comes being friends to attractiveness than uglyness.
disagree. the statement is based upon an illusion: that a woman's beauty can be held by anyone else, that a man's money will capture it.
    i disagree

    ';Is our obsession with beauty linked to our human craving for power?';

hell no.... money runs the world.. sadly

EDIT: yes but my point is that beauty has nothing to do with it

    masochist answer below mine
Why does everything have to be about ';power'; anyway?
Both benefit. The rich guy get the beautiful girl to parade around and the girl gets him to buy her stuff.
Uh, you do realize that women are no longer considered chattel eh?

I.e. a man can't 'hold a woman's beauty' - only she can hold what is of her.
no. it's her power. if she gives her power away it's her fault. Beauty can have the world at her feet if she wills it to be so.
I think what they're referring to is in a public official sense, which would be true in that sense. Otherwise, no.

Am I a metrosexual because I am cruisin the beauty section?

I think the term comes with negative connotations.

Caring about the way they look and dress should not make you less of a man (or woman for that matter).

James Bond has always been impecably dressed and groomed. But I would not call him a metrosexual.

Its OK to have a beer and look good too!

  • Is anyone a beauty consultant in a department store or maybe for Sephora?

I'm interested in becoming a consultant cause I have a love for cosmetics. . . but how well does it pay? Is it worth it? What are some of the dowfalls and pluses to this?Is anyone a beauty consultant in a department store or maybe for Sephora?
Department store consultants are paid higher than Sephora consultants. Department stores pay anywhere from $9-$18 an hour depending on your experience and the area you live in. Typically you get gratis on top of that. Gratis is where the company gives you anywhere from $100-$500 worth of free cosmetics every 6 months (varies by store and counter) to ensure you are wearing their product while working. You also make commission. This varies from store to store but typically it's paid at 3% rate. This means after sales tax you get 3% back on your paycheck for anything you sell. I find at christmas time is when commission really adds up. The downside is that you are on your feet all day, you work retail hours meaning you work evenings, weekends, and some holidays and none of it's a set schedule. You also may be required to meet sales goals and can be disciplined if you don't meet those goals. For example, your manager could require you to sell $500 worth of cosmetics a night. If you have a slow night with very few customers you'll really struggle to meet that goal. Also, some counters focus more on sales skills rather than makeup skill. Many times you'll work with others who don't know eyeliner from mascara but they can talk a customer into buying anything so they get to work for the makeup counter. The plus is that it's really a fun job. The best is getting to see and play with the new colors before anyone else sees them and also just getting to be around makeup and help people everyday. You'll be amazed at the bond you'll form with some of your customers. It's a wonderful feeling.

Sephora pays $7-$9 an hour. They really don't normally go over that amount no matter what market you are in. They don't do commission. They do bonuses. Bonuses are based on the entire sales team's performance. For instance one month they may want to push a specific line and a specific new product in that line. The manager will ask that as a team the store must sell X number of bottles of that item. If the store hits that goal then you all get a set bonus amount on your check. It's good if everyone is a team player, bad if you have those who figure out that they can let everyone else bust their behind to reach the goal cuz they get paid whether they sell any of that item or not. Sephora also will have vendors (cosmetic companies they sell) come in and do classes for the staff on whatever their new product is before it's put on the shelves. These classes are not mandatory but you don't get paid any hourly wages to attend them. Instead of pay they give you one of the new products they are teaching. You could potentially end up the with the greatest new product stash ever but you have to invest some time into it. With Sephora you are also working retail hours and on your feet all day. You also get the reward of working with makeup and working with people who love makeup. Sephora is less likely to hire someone who is pushy in sales where department stores look for that type of person. The trade off is the pay. Sephora tends to be kinder to their employees than department stores and they tend to create a more supportive work environment to make up for their lack of pay.Is anyone a beauty consultant in a department store or maybe for Sephora?

The ultimate female beauty is one which has natural totally hairless legs and underarms?

Did any American/European actress was or is in this category, having totally natural hairless legs and underarms?

    i disagree with you...

my mother is very fat(sorry about my mother but its true).... but she is totally and naturally hairless on legs and underarms. do you think she is that ultimate female beauty you are talking about?!

havent you think about the real beauty within? The ultimate female beauty is one which has natural totally hairless legs and underarms?
I think you will find that all women have some body hair. Most will remove it by shaving or waxing if it is noticeable.
Since we are all mammals, the only way to be hairless would be to shave. Well, unless you are a hairless cat and those are just gross to look at.
Yeah, and they probably had alopecia .. other than that, hair is normal. It's part of puberty.
You sound a little freaky. No one like that exists. Go buy a hairless chihuahua.
Totally naturally hairless underarms? I think that's practically impossible even for girls.
beauty is in ur eye no matter hair or no hair
no and i don't thing so
First time I've heard of a girl who is totally naturally hairless. I thought every girl had to shave, lol.
Let me know. I don't have a clue why this is the case, and I hate it! I have dark hair, and I would be the first to embrace the trend if it became acceptable not to shave.
You're right about Madonna -- she also has a coarse black moustache which, at least in the past, she kept under control by shaving.

Surprising though it may seem to American women (and men), many, perhaps most, women in the world have little or no hair on their legs and go right through life with no trace of moustache growth either. Almost all women have at least a little pubic and underarm hair, but in the most feminine women it may be just a fine trace of wispy hair, almost unnoticeable.

American women are very much hairier than most others, possibly due to diet -- the average American women is as hairy as a typical male from South East Asia.
no one does, they all have hair but some more extreme than others, some thicker than others, etc
The ultimate female beauty comes from within...She is moral and does not participate in inuendo's of the sexual kind. Be it with clothing or food etc...When a female is clean in thought and actions, her beauty radiates like a thousand stars.
i can't think of any woman on earth that is naturally, and magically, UNHAIRY in those two areas...

What makes of beauty products don't so testing on animals?

Whilst many if not most products do now suggest that they do not undertake testing on animals, there are certainly other issues you need to consider if you are seeking to become truly ethical in your beauty care buying habits.

Testing on animals is abhorrent and it is clear that it is often of little use for predicting the effect of chemicals on human beings - which further undermines its use as a method of assessing safety. One web site that features abundant information, plus details of products that contain absolutely NO ingredients that are tested on animals is http://www.saferalternative.com

Man has introduced many tens of thousands of synthetic chemicals into our lives over the last half-century. Chemicals that never existed before in nature - and about which we have little, or no, knowledge about what their long-term impact on us, animals or the planet will be.

Every year the many millions of people in the developed world, at the mercy of billions of dollars of advertising are persuaded to buy and use beauty and personal care products that incorporate a vast array of worrisome chemicals.

Not only is it now known that many of these pose clear health threats - many products contain chemicals that are KNOWN to be associated with human cancers for example. We know that around 50% of the constituents of our beauty products, cosmetics may be absorbed directly into the body by through the pores of skin.

But possibly even worse than this is the largely unacknowledged, massive 'unofficial' animal and environmental 'testing' that goes on due to the gallons of these chemicals washed off our skins down the drain! The ecological damage is incalculable. Just because it is not taking place in a laboratory - ANY products that contain ANY chemicals of a synthetic and unnatural nature, must be suspect in respect of the huge threat their indiscriminate release down drains and into public waterways pose to our delicate eco-systems.

Humans are already picking-up-the-tab in terms of health problems thanks to the virtually uncontrolled use of a wide range of toxic chemicals throughout products we uses and come into contact with every day. Amongst worse offenders in terms of health threats are indeed so called beauty products, which contain many known, harmful toxic chemicals...with almost no real research to clarify the potential risks involved for people who use several layers of products on their skins daily.

The marketing men seem happy to 'beseech' us to keep plastering ourselves with toxic substances...because apparently 'we are worth it!!!!!'

The issue of animal testing is now relatively small in so far as it is widely recognized as being an unethical practice that carries huge negative media potential for any company that still employs it.

What we should be more worried about is the totally uncontrolled release of vicious, toxic chemical residues washed down our drains every day to the untold damage of our withering eco-systems...we ourselves may be long gone before our great-great-grandchildren start to pay the real price for our short-sighted behaviour鈥ut this does NOT mean we should abdicate our responsibilities.

One of the world's only truly safe full ranges of beauty care that has not only been developed from a strict ethical perspective, but only uses pure, natural and as far as possible CERTIFIED organic ingredients (this means you can be assured of their organic provenance...NOT like many off the shelf items that have little or NO real organic qualities) is now provided by http://www.saferalternative.com

(NOTE: there is also a great deal more comprehensive information on this web site that explains in more depth why you should be concerned about MORE than simply animal testing if you are truly trying to live a more ethical life - as well as full details about the extensive range of beauty products and all their 100% natural ingredients - NONE of which are tested on animals.)What makes of beauty products don't so testing on animals?
The ones that leave your eyes burning, instead of mister bunny wunny. What makes of beauty products don't so testing on animals?
Most ingredients have been tested on animals - but years ago. (And if they don't hurt you then they didn't hurt the animal).

Most companies these days DON'T test products on animals and they use ingredients that they know are safe to use.

Even the ingredients used by Body Shop have been tested on animals by someone else. But Body Shop don't do any testing on animals themselves.

I agree that formulations using natural ingredients are better than non-natural ingredients. But don't assume that just because something is natural it is safe to use. Toadstools are natural but you wouldn't eat one. And people can be allergic to natural materials just as easily as manufactured ones. Just look hoe many people are allergic to nuts.
    body shop and n.y.c
As someone else has said there are quite a few brands that sell under the canopy of not tested on animals but, that means the finished product not the individual ingredient's!

Also, when thinking about these things you have to consider other products such as toothpaste, I heard a long time ago that Colgate do test on animals.
You are asking the wrong question as some of the manafacturers do not test them on animals due to the ingredients already been tested.

So if they claim not to test on animals for cosmetics then ask yourself why not? You will find a lot of strange things used to mis-inform the general public.
body shop doesn't and they smell great
Make your own cosmetics, that's the only way. If you ever wondered why Body Shop's slogan is 'Against animal testing' rather than 'Our products have not been tested on animals', it's because that even though the finished product is not tested on animals, the actual ingredients are - prior to being mixed to a product.

Seriously, make you own stuff, it's fun, cheap and you get such satisfaction out of it. Furthermore, you avoid allergens and parabens (hormones) which is otherwise almost impossible to avoid today.

In the book A Great and Terible Beauty, is the title tied back to the beauty of the gift or of pippa?

Is the title tied back to the fact that Gemma is plain (ish) and when inhabited with the gift she can do anything, be anything, and that makes her gift both beautiful and terrible at the same time, or the beauty of Pippa Cross and how terrible it is because....well, look where that gets her. Please only answer if you have read the book. Obviously. Cheers! In the book A Great and Terible Beauty, is the title tied back to the beauty of the gift or of pippa?
It has to do with Gemma's supernatural powers...nothing to do with actual physical appearances! In the book A Great and Terible Beauty, is the title tied back to the beauty of the gift or of pippa?
It's Gemma's gift. It's both beautiful and terrible. It's beautiful in that she can have what she wants, but it's terrible in that she harbors this amazing power that can potentially become lethal. Have you read the third book? That will show you the terrors of Gemma's power. The creatures of the realms eventually want Gemma's power.

And absolute power can corrupt absolutely.

How important is beauty/what do you notice first in a person?

when you meet someone or look at them online, what do you notice or care about? what conclusions do you come to from what you see?

thanks! How important is beauty/what do you notice first in a person?
The first thing I look for is kindness. I look at their eyes and their mouth. You can sometimes tell a great deal by this. But, I have been wrong before. How important is beauty/what do you notice first in a person?
Immediately, I look at their mouth.

Is their tongue sticking out at an odd angle? If so, this points to a wish to be seen as goofy, ';random';, or funny.

Is their mouth puckered like a retarded fish? If so, they're trying to make you think of them as sexy.

Is their mouth open like they are yelling? If so, they want you to think they are fun to be around, or that you are aggressive/passionate.

Is their mouth a half smirk, half frown? If so, they want you to believe that they don't give a sh*t, or that they are are laid back and chill.

Are they smiling, but in a forced manner (i.e. just showing teeth)? Then this shows they are somewhat shy/anti-social, however wish to be perceived as attractive.

Is their mouth a half smirk, half smile, with no teeth showing? Then, my friend, you have a pedophile on your hands.

How can i get wal-mart to sell my beauty poducts?

good luck with that if you are a small business, getting slotting in walmart is like finding the holy grail for a small business, you have to meet with the morons in bentonville, and convince them that they are going to make millions, while they pressure you to make nothing and lower your costs by moving production to china, depending on your line, you might consider small boutique shops and market yourself as a premium line, prove yourself there first, then walmart may talk to youHow can i get wal-mart to sell my beauty poducts?
Wal-Mart will not buy from you unless you can prove to them that you can mass produce your product for pennies on the dollar. They have the buying power to make or break a small business, and they will insist their purchase price from you is about half of what you would be comfortable with. Push your products to your local boutiques, and set up shop on eBay. Good Luck! How can i get wal-mart to sell my beauty poducts?

Has anyone got any really good make-up and beauty techniques?

some stuff about my looks already; olive skin, brown eyes, quite bit longer than shouder length hair and brown.Has anyone got any really good make-up and beauty techniques?
To get better, thicker, longer lashes I generally put mascara on and then let it dry. Once dry I apply some face powder to my lashes to thicken them up and then add another layer of mascara.

This usually looks good when I'm wearing black eyeshadow on just the top eye lid. Makes my top eyelid look really black and appears like nice long lashes.Has anyone got any really good make-up and beauty techniques?
    I've got heaps!!!

Wash your face twice a day with a cleanser suitable to your skin type. I prefer to wash off cleanser and rinse well, pat skin dry with a clean soft cloth or tissue. Using toner prepares the skin for moisturizer and also removes any last traces of cleanser, oil or make up.

Whenever going out into the environment protect your skin with moisturizer and/or a good sunscreen SPF15+.

I don't recommend teenagers or people with oily skin to use a night cream unless there skin feels dry. Over 20yr olds, use a night cream to suit your skin type.

Before applying makeup make sure your skin is clean, dry and moisturized.

That's the essential basics. I could writ e a book on it.
    Eyes-

Use eyeliner and mascara to make them stand out.Brown or Orangee eye shadow would be good for you.

    Hair-

Get a trim and ask for a fringe. Keep it in good condition by washing once every two weeks.

    P.s-

Less is always more. Try and keep it natural but with oranges and browns thrown in, Earthy colours.
use more earthy tones like golds browns tan bronze beige greens (all shades) for eyes. peachy blush for cheeks. a shimmery pink/peachy lipgloss. also, always play up either the eyes or the lips but not both together. and less is always more------------meaning that you dont have to wear a load of make-up. try to make it look as if it was effortless.

If it changes color or becomes irregular in shape, then that would be the time to see a doc. Until then, just keep an eye on it. I have a beauty mark on my chin?
If you pick it open or it starts to take on a weird and abnormal shape, i would see a dermotoligist or doctor about it, as it could be melanoma. Other than that, my friend Megan has a spot just like taht on her leg and it is perfectly fine.

It may be a good idea to check with a dermatologist and see if anything is wrong.

You may have just brushed something against it, in your sleep perhaps, and caused it to become a bit inflamed.

    Okay, answer me this:

Does the mole form a circle, or oval? Or is it jagged or a weird shape?

Is it one solid color, or two?
Well I have a beauty mark in the same place and mine is raised but it always has been. If it's changing maybe you should have a dermatologist look at it just to be safe.
Well, i have one on my cheek as we.. And that is normal(i have visited a doctor regarding that). The beauty mark will be removed by laser treatment once u turn 18 yrs or above.
I think you should go to the doctor and check it out just in case.

Sorry, McCain has a history for picking Beauty Queens and models: his former wife, his current wife, an now his VP. Isn't it ironic?
Not that I'm a fan of Sarah Palin but seriously...what does her being a beauty queen have to do with anything? Can't she be beautiful and smart at the same time?
Good thing she's more than just pretty hot then. No experience? She's done wonders for Alaska, and most importantly is the only 1st party person that agrees with what I think about energy policies.
Oh geez, the democrats have been infected. They are starting to sound as dumb as republicans.
And exactly what is Obama, he would be the president with less experience than Palin has, your question doesn't float.
Palin has an army called the Alaskan National Guard. The only thing Obama has is a pack of lawyers he used to ban people making fun of him.
Why would they? That's how Quayle became VP.

  • How is physical beauty unimportant?

I do not get how supposedly physical beauty is unimportant. People who are deemed unattractive are practically isolated from society and they are the ones that struggle to fit in. I've known plenty of unattractive girls who have never been asked out or ever had a boy like them even now that they are in their 20s. How are they ever going to get married? Even in groups of people, the cute person automatically receives the most attention? If people are nicer to cuter people and meaner to those who are ugly then how is physical beauty supposedly unimportant? How is physical beauty unimportant?
It is important both for self esteem and to be treated fairly by society. But it is not everything. Most people are not super models and are average the model types are as rare (or common) as the extremely ugly. How is physical beauty unimportant?
oh it is very important. people will lie and say that bosses dont care about how you look, of course they do! some people have actually gotten jobs because compared to another person, they look better. and its so sad too because there are so many good women of good character and morals, who may not be the best looking, but they would be great providers for a family and hard working and other stuff. sadly, too many people overlook personality and go straigt for looks.

but not to be harsh, if you were walking down the street and saw a pretty woman and on the other side you saw a not so attractive less than plain jane type, i bet you would most likey go for the pretty woman. they are just more noticable and stand out for a better cause.
When I'm with a group of my friends, I'm nice to the 'unattractive'. Actually to be honest, I'm nicer to them then I am to the attractive ones. There is someone out there for everyone, no matter how ugly or cute they are. Looks don't really matter to me. I see through looks and into the heart. Come on, give people a break, it shouldn't matter what they look like, it should matter how they act and what they've experianced in life. By the way, someone you might think is ugly, someone else might think is beautiful.
I wouldn't say it's unimportant, but you need to know that people have different tastes, different styles, etc. Those girls you say are unattractive, well, that's just to YOU. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's why some guys think Angelina Jolie is hot, and others think she's been chasing parked cars.
you sound like a conceited, self-centered , selfish piece of S*$#. people say inner beauty is important and it is and it really does not matter how you look to succeed in life. sure, looks help sometime but looks are not everything. the cutest person may automatically receive attention but sometime they may not want it??? who is mean to ugly people???? only people who are UGLY AND NASTY within. and people like that NEVER, EVER succeed because eventually their ugliness from within shows....kind of like you are doing now.
Better looking people do indeed have better opportunities in life.

Yet in a relationship who you are is more important. Say you love someone with your whole heart, will you leave them if they get acne, or have an accident?

As far as marrying, ugly people meet, get married and have kids all the time. They may be happier that the beautiful people because they don't have to worry about superficial stuff.
Looks are very important. It's primal to desire beauty as your mate. One of the stages of survival is to eliminate the weak gene and not share yours with it. This is why women like the tough, rebel guy over the weakly nerd and quiet type guys. They feel the guy can protect their kids and not run from a fight. Just as men want a woman who looks like they can provide a good upbringing for their offspring and can have many.

Looks not as important to women as they are to men.

Women seek strength, leadership, and social status.
People are not automatically nicer to people who are pretty or handsome. They get the most attention but that doesn't mean that they won't get mean or rude insults from other people.

Beauty is subjective. There are people that are going to feel differently about what he/she thinks is beauty.
Physical beauty is important but not as important as inner beauty. Some people might not care about physical beauty. People are different. You could see the most gorgeous guy and when you get to know him he's just a horrible shallow stuck-up pig with no personality.
it is important, because beauty attracts. After that, personality counts. If the beautiful person is ugly on the inside its left. When you go shopping, your attracted to the pretty thing but in the end you end up buying the thing that lasts. right?
I think looks are somewhat important but not the most important. Overall personality outweighs looks. I've seen hot guys with bad personalities or I just can't click with and I'm not attracted...I've seen okay guys that I click with that because HOT to me lol.
Only unattractive WORMS say that physical beauty is unimportant.

The physical aspect of people is JUST as important as mental intellience.
Its a fine line today. Between Physical attractiveness and personaltty and we all know that. (supposedly) Of course the most attractive girl has an automatic K.O at first but as pepole befriend her they realise they deserve better.
i think the saying ';looks dont matter'; was made up to comfort unattractive people. truthfully and saddly, the world revolves around beauty.
Physical beauty is only so important because everyone gets old and wrinkly.
someone can be beautiful have a dream husband and life and have an accident that could disfigure them or handicap them and take away the external beauty.....then what
    Rich trumps beauty.
the sad truth is (in my opinion) Is that looks are EVERYTHING.
its not people who say that lie

I want a beauty mark tattoo near my eye?

Shannyn Sossamon has a beauty mark near her eye and I think its beautiful. And I was thinking about getting a tattoo of it near my eye, do you think thats stupid? I think its unique because I don't know anyone that had that idea.I want a beauty mark tattoo near my eye?
I wouldn't do this one. Even the browns can turn color on you, especially since your face is always exposed to the sun. If they use too dark of a color it will turn grey. If they use a lighter brown it will likely turn red.

Besides, the shop minimum is usually $50, some higher, so are you willing to pay that for a dot?I want a beauty mark tattoo near my eye?
If you were still considering it I know it sounds cool but I have herd that a licensed tattoo artist will not typically do facial tattoos unless it is another tattoo artist Report Abuse

While this is a pretty cool idea, and I'm the last person to advise against getting a tattoo, please think about whether you'd want this mark on your face permanently. Tattoos elsewhere will be easy to cover up in case you change you mind somewhere along the line, but something on your face will be terribly hard to mask.

If you can deal with having it there for the rest of your life and won't regret your decision, go for it. :)
I think it's a really cool and unique idea. I think if you were going to get one, get it with a brownish ink so it looks real. A lot of people have cosmetic tattoos, like eyeliner, eyebrows and what not. It's a really neat idea and if you find the right artist and take proper care of it, it'll look awesome!

    Go for it :)
I don't think that's a good idea. Beauty marks are supposed to be natural and it would look weird as a tattoo.

Have you ever noticed that the only women who make a big deal about seeing the beauty within are attractive?

It is getting pretty pathetic. I was watching a commerical with Alicia Keys about proactive and she was explaining how everyone is beautiful and that looks don't matter. Hmm... Maybe she can say that NOW when she looks stunning. It's ridiculous, I've heard it way too many times coming from attractive people. It's cliche and lame.Have you ever noticed that the only women who make a big deal about seeing the beauty within are attractive?
She was paid to say it, can you blame her? xDHave you ever noticed that the only women who make a big deal about seeing the beauty within are attractive?
Well...at the same time..those women deal with more men only wanting to date them for what is on the outside. So, they get burned a lot from men with superficial motives. I think it makes them want to be appreciated for who they are instead of what they look like.
there is no set standard for beauty, i like out of the norm and unusual types because their features are more interesting to draw
    Looks don't matter..
Yes its lame but I guess she WAS paid to say that.
    i agree

    NOTHING BUT MONEY..

What do you think about men who put beauty before age?
Shallow, my husband always puts older women first. He carries the groceries of our 78 year old neighbor lady up 4 flights of stairs when he sees her and gives up his seat for older women or holds the door for them.

he doesn't pay any attention to young women other then once in a great while he will say they would look nice with our son because they may be tall and slim like him.

He always put both of our mothers ahead of me.
You 'pays your money and takes your choice'.What happened to preferences?I like blue,I do not like pink,in fact I detest pink.Am I shallow for that?I don't think so.

Is hollywood beauty super gro a good hair product. If so does it make your hair grow ?

I just bought this priduct and im pretty impressed wit hit so fat

some of the ingradents are coconut oil, soybean oil, castor oil, almond oil, ect all natural ingradents Is hollywood beauty super gro a good hair product. If so does it make your hair grow ?
OMG! The first poster is right! Nothing can make your hair grow because this depends on ***** GENETICS ******

Many products that aren't good for your hair can contain those ingredients. Many products that boast these ingredients will usually have a small porportion in them compared to other non-natural ingredients. For example, to correctly read the ingredients list for any product: The ingredients listed closer to the top of the ingredients list will have a higher porportion of those ingredients compared to those further down the line. The last ingredient on the list has the least amount of that ingredient in the product. If you read the ingredients list for many of these products that boast natural ingredients then you'll see that those natural ingredients are usually included further down the list, while the ingredients that aren't good for your hair are included nearer the top (petroleum, mineral oil, etc).

You can also buy these natural products in their 100% natural form. Olive oil you can buy at the grocery store in the cooking isle. I buy Olive oil and add that to my hair products for added moisture. You can do the same with all the natural ingredients you listed, or use them without adding them to anything.

I'm thinking of doo gro, which is basically grease and is not good for your hair. Most of the time when people say their hair is not growing then it's because it's breaking off. Your hair might be growing well, but if it's breaking off at the ends then you're negating your new growth, and possibly *losing* length. Keep breakage to a very minimum and you'll see that your hair really is growing.

Instead of grease use a light hair and scalp conditioner. Grease clogs your pores and hampers hair growth. If you compare the ingredients of a light hair and scalp conditioner to those contained in grease then you'll see a big difference because light hair and scalp conditioner does not contain all the bad ingredients and pore clogging ingredients that grease contains. You can also tell the difference from looking at the two, grease is and looks heavier. Blue Magic is an example of grease that should go no where near your scalp and hair and TCB Light hair and scalp conditioner is something that would be better. Buy something that's light because it doesn't weigh-down your hair and make it very greasy/oily looking.

I use mainly 100% natural moisturizers for my hair. Pure shea butter, olive oil, mango butter, jojoba butter. Find a health foods store and they will sell some of this stuff. You can also find them online. I also add some of them to my other hair products like shampoos and conditioners for a better effect. Is hollywood beauty super gro a good hair product. If so does it make your hair grow ?
NOTHING makes your hair grow but TIME! TIME TIME TIME, Look it up, it's true. Don't waste your money on products that are useless :)

is cosmotology liscense different from esthetician liscense?

i want to get both, does that mean i need to take two programs? How much does it cost to go to beauty school?
The tutition is different. It will be cheaper to go to a lesser known school in a small town, then it would to go to one(or a Bigger name.) in a City...Esthetics and Cosmetology are different licensed. Can the beauty of a philosopher's mind be made carnate in the deeds of a city?

Understanding the city's deeds prior to philosophy (or a particular philosopher's influence) = Machiavelli. Modern rationalism made beautiful? Ancient rationalism irretrievable? Can the beauty of a philosopher's mind be made carnate in the deeds of a city?
    Hi Vonhiggins,

because dove uses mosturizing elements in their soaps you should be fine and your face shouldn't dry out as long as you follow with a mosturizer.

Who won the recent 1st season of True Beauty?

I think the last three contestants were: Joel, Billy, and Emily...

Who won?Who won the recent 1st season of True Beauty?
Julia. She was the only one to pass all 8 challenges. Joel came in 2nd and Billy came in 3rd. I think you can still watch the episodes on abc.com.

Here's a picture of her to refresh your memory: http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/tvtalk/fi鈥?/a>Who won the recent 1st season of True Beauty?
That show was great. Unfortunantly I don't think they are making a new season. :(

Julia won though, and I thought that she deserved it. But I thought it should have gone Julia, Blilly, and then Joel. Oh well.

You should really watch the last episode. It was really good.
Im sorry but I think you're confused because Julia Anderson won.

Do women enjoy painting their nails, trying on beauty products or do so b/c society expects women to do this?

As a crossdresser, i enjoy painting my toe nails, and then removing the nailpolish and trying on another color, or trying on different makeup products.

I am wondering if women also enjoy such things, or do they get nails done, and preety them selves b/c of expections that society has from women.Do women enjoy painting their nails, trying on beauty products or do so b/c society expects women to do this?
Depends on the woman. Some do it because it's simply FUN to check out all the pretty colors and see which ones match best with their skin tone and clothing. Others do it out of boredom lol. Then of course, there are those women who try and fit into societies standards on what is pegged as acceptable and attractive in a woman. Other women don't give a hoot and won't conform to society no matter what.Do women enjoy painting their nails, trying on beauty products or do so b/c society expects women to do this?
I think that women themselves enjoy it. They like looking pretty, getting attention, feeling presentable from head to toe, it gives them confidence. But I guess you're right in a way, because not all women act this way, it's the representative majority, in varying extents, that sort of give this stereotype to all women.

And sometimes it's not pressure from society, it's just pressure to look good at school or work or at a party or just at the mall.
I don't enjoy painting my nails but I do it because it makes them look nice. I don't always wear polish on them, sometimes I just do a french manicure. I don't enjoy putting on make-up either, but I do wear it because I look better with a little bit on. I would rather get my nails done rather than do them myself, but I don't like to spend the money for something I can just as easily do at home.
They do it because they are rewarded for doing it, that is getting male attention and enhancing self-esteem as a consequence of becoming more beautiful.

This is why feminism does not like the heterosexual male, because straight men reward this behavior and propagate the marketing for it. For a woman to be truly independent, she may need to discard men entirely.
well when enjoy doing it sometimes. i don't feel pressured to do so. but their are times when i don't really care one way or the other and at those times i don't do any of that stuff. i don't feel pressured to be that way, i don't need to do any of that to know i'm a woman. my ovaries are all the proof i need.
Some women enjoy it, some do it because it's expected, and some of us hate it and avoid makeup, nail polish, and beauty products at all costs. To me it's a huge waste of money and time, and am so glad I don't have to use that stuff.
I still enjoy getting ready for special events like weddings or big dates. The basic make-up stuff that I do every morning to go to work is more of a chore at this point. The novelty of that wore off sometime during middle school.
I like trying these things, mainly I do it on a weekend and just wear it around the house. But I don't expect that I have to in public, I always go without make-up.
Women do it because they enjoy it. There is no law that says you have to do those things if you don't want to.
Women do this because it enhances their inherent beauty.
its kind of both but almost every girl wants to look pretty.

like myself for example, i get all dressed up today and im not even going anywhere. i guess it just boosts confidence :)
I wear makeup and nail polish because I like it. Not because I feel like I have to do it.
I do it because it's fun and I enjoy it. I don't really care what society expects me to do.
    OK.

What is a safe and practical way of learning to cut hair without going to beauty school?

I want to be one of those girls who cuts peoples hair.... well.... but i don't know what to practice on and I'm too young to go to ';beauty school';. Any suggestions? What is a safe and practical way of learning to cut hair without going to beauty school?
some schools allow you to go work at a hair salon and watch and help around. you learn alot. even asking for a part time job at a local hair salon (maybe not a huge one, but a tiny small business salon is nice.) you'd just clean up and help around (you dont cut hair or do anything like that), and most lady's or men will be willing to let you watch and learn, and maybe even teach you a few things, but you have to go to beauty school if you want to do peoples hair. they might ask you to wash peoples hair now and then. its really good experience to watch them cut, dye, ect peoples hair and see how its done. also... you can buy those big doll heads in toy stores, there not that much money.(they make them for girls to braid and such, but you can cut the hair, wont be the same as real hair though..) they would be good to practice on if you really needed to.but for now though, my advice is watch and learn until you get the opportunity for beauty school. and i wouldn't try cutting someones hair, or your own until you have somewhat of an idea what to do.

i love how that person said the same thing as i did.....What is a safe and practical way of learning to cut hair without going to beauty school?
Well, if you want to be become a professional and work at any decent salon you are going to have to go to some type of beauty school to get your cosmotology license. If you don't, you probably won't get any clients. Sorry.

I know in my area we have something called the Career Center, where high school students can go and take cosmotology classes and get their cosmotology licenses during the school day. I know we aren't the only city that has one, so you should look into it and see if there is one in your area. However, if you want to work at a salon that is a little higher on the ladder than like BoRics, then you should really go to a professional cosmotology school on top of that.

The more training you have, the more clients you have, the better the salon you get the work at. Plain and simple.
Try 2 get part time work at a hairdressers if your luck they might give you some pointers.Other than that i think you need 2 wait till your old enough. Or use 1 of those doll heads thats what my daughter does she wants 2 be a hairdressers %26amp; she has a dolls head that she cuts all the time. You can get them at a toy shop. I need 2 get my daughter another 1 but she has done a really good job. So thats 1 way of learning until your older.
to work in a salon, you do need to go to beauty school, to get a lisence.

and all i can suggest is practicing on yourself, but the outcome might not be too great, haha.

Spiritually you can be awakened many times and by different means. The divine feminine has awakened me more than once. This is not to say that I was entirely asleep, but I did fall back into a semi state of consciousness before. Each time, it was the divine feminine that helped me to open my eyes fully again.

In all honesty, we are all both male and female energy anyway, not so much in a sexual way but the divine feminine resides in both genders and everywhere in between.

this is for my sociology of gender class and there's some information about the gender inequality of beauty in regards to aging, but i just don't know how to present it to the class and what kind of info. i was thinking powerpoint and maybe some magazine ads to show aging, but i need more ideas. any suggestions is needed.Ideas about presenting info about gender inequality in beauty and aging?
You might present the thesis that the age/ gender factor was created by the commercial market. It is fairly easy to find the number of ways youth and gender play a role in advertising. That approach alone would be more material than you could possibly use. I have included two sites below that might help. One will give you the history of labelling beauty and the second one with ways that have been used to determine what attracts. If you google ';beauty versus handsome';, there are several sites that might be helpful. Watch TV and record in some way how commercials constantly bombard the public with these ideas.

You might also bring out the aspect of a male dominated society in the field of business which helped create all of this.

Patrick Stewart was named sexiest man alive some years ago by some pop culture magazine. When was the last time a woman of his years was valued for her beauty? I would just gather as many examples from media that tend to support the theory that women are objectified and sexualized more for their youth and men more for their strength/confidence.
are you going after mother nature
I love the strength I have found in older women. They seem to come into their own as their men retire. I could name about 50 gorgeous women over 50 here without stopping to think without having to resort to the movie industry's Goldie Hawn, Oprah, Diane Canon, Tina Turner, etc. etc. I think Laura Bush is beautiful and her confidence makes her magnetic.

    I fell for that ';old saw'; about men aging much better than women, then I started looking around me, and it just ';ain't so!';

Maybe you need to start your premise from a different perspective. I have also noticed that women bounce back more effectively and quicker when they lose a job, and are far more likely to start their own business after the age of 50 which is not so typical of the men I know.
you can discus the difference on how aging is perceived, If a man get a gray hair he is called distinguished, if a woman get a gray hair she is old and ugly, she let her self go? if a man gains weight he is husky or big boned? a woman is just fat. if a man loses his hair no one will notis, if its a woman it a tragic and sad. if a guy does not dress up its because hes a man, if a woman does the same thing she is just tacky and wrong.
you could always find the Dove campaigns on youtube and embed some clips. They discuss the beauty industry through an Anti Marketing -Marketing campaign. They appeal to the better sense of the consumer but in that they are telling you that they are the only ones who care so you should support them. They have a lovely ageing product line called 'pro aging' which isn't anti aging... so it must be for the self esteem right?? onslaught is the video, the most recent one anyway.

Just analyzes some pics, and discuss what they ads are really saying... jean kilbourne's killing us softly 3 talks about beauty and ads and media... clips are on youtube as well. hope this helps

    Have a card scheme.

Give each regular client a card, each time they have a treatment stamp their card, when they have reached say 20 stamps give them a free treatment.Does anyone have any ideas for a for reward scheme for loyal clients at a beauty salon?
Extra jam dodger with their coffee!!
how about u invite your loyal customers into the salon for a champagne reception kind of thing (doesnt have to be real champagne) free glasses of champagne and canapes let the clients have a look round at some ''new'' treatments available and let them have free samples

    goodluck :)
what about 9 perms/colours etc then 10th free?

or what about a cup of coffee and biscuit for them!
Free Massage. Contact a local massage school or legitimate massage place and maybe you can work out a deal. School provides massage free (for advertizing) or you can trade for haircuts.

Other things, facials, manicures, pedicures, lawn care, oil change. Since you can trade your down time to others for there services, the possibilities are endless.
What product do you offer that is the worst selling? Offer this either free or at a largely discounted price.
you could offer with the card (ontop of the discount or not up to you)

2 for one style deals or

after x number of cuts a free beauty treatment if you do them, just basic stuff, maybe a facial or a manicure depending on what you cover.

I'd go for a points system like boots do. Maybe give them a loyalty card (like you get in cafe nero) and each time they come stamp the card. Once they have reached a certain amount, give them a free treatment - say a manicure, or possibly give them the option to save their points and have a free full body massage once they reach something like 50 points!?
Perhaps a permanent discount for a selected number of loyal regulars; but be careful you don't begin discounting to the point where you begin making a loss
    free treatments
a free treatment of what ever it is they come in for on a regular basis say every 20 sessions
Why not offer them a points card , on so many points they can take an upgrade to a service free

I'm not in your trade but , if they pay for a wash they receive a wash and blow dry , that sort of thing , you know what I mean
You can use a third party reward transaction processor. Basically you would issue a rewards card to your customers鈥?and they would build points every time they frequent your establishment. After accumulating enough points they can redeem for products and services.

I used to work for a company called GiveX, www.givex.com who does gift card and loyalty programs.

It has been at least 8 years since I worked for them so I can not give you current info on them. If you do a search you can probably find dozens of other companies doing the same thing.

Can you try on the extensions at sallys beauty supply?

i want black extensions really badly but there so expensive and if im going to spend almost 100$ on them i want to at least try them on first b/c if i spend that much money and dont like them ill be pretttty mad lol.

so do they let you try them on in the store?

    thanks

also- if you have clip on extensions, do you like them? Can you try on the extensions at sallys beauty supply?
No they don't. But what you can have them do is take the hair out of the package (they come in a clear plastic packet that allows you to slide them out) and have them put them up to your hair to match it. Personally, when I was a newbie at extensions, I would use Sallys hair. BUT, now I do not. They are cheapily made and the hairs fall out! If you want extensions try a local beauty shop (like an african american store, usually they are owned by arabs / chinese etc) They will help you pick out REALLY nice hair, and cheaper than $100. I used to glue mine in, now I get them sewed in. But after the tracks I have sewn in now fall out or become looser I'm going to start to use clip ins. (they give you more options to take out or to leave in)

Just make sure you get 100% HUMAN HAIR, no fake synthetic stuff. If you get synthetic (which sallys has) you can't curl or flat iron.

Need any more help e-mail me

krystal0311@yahoo.comCan you try on the extensions at sallys beauty supply?
No you can't try them on because re-using extensions is really gross.

i want to join dance. but yeah, i have a black (but flat) mole under my right eye. it isn't big, rather small, but visible. and on my left shoulder, there are two marks that are obvious. so if i'm required to wear dance costume that are sleeveless, they will be highly visible. i feel weird. but i can't change this fact, and i'm not going to waste money on removing them. what should i do? do any dancers face same problems? is it bad to have marks that are visible for a dancer?Do dancers have to be perfect on outer beauty?
First of all, you do not have to be pretty to be a dancer. The prettiest dancer might be the worst dancer and the ugliest might be the best dancer. You should ask yourself these questions: Do I enjoy dancing? and Am I looking forward to going to dance class? If you answered yes to both those questions then you should keep dancing. You shouldn't let something as small as blemishes on your body keep you from pursuring your dream. And even if you do have a sleeve-less costume-- make-up always works if you are self-concious about it and won't preform your best with it. I faced the same problem when I broke my arm. I thought everybody was starring at just my arm and not the way I danced, but then I learned to get over it. I'm sure this will work for you. Hope this helped!Do dancers have to be perfect on outer beauty?
I do face similar problems- I have extreme acne- on my back! Bad.

Yours don't sound too bad, though. If you're really really worried, then just use makeup. Otherwise, don't worry. Everyone has flaws, and once you start dancing no one will notice, I promise. You should just dance, and not let something so silly get in your way.
as long as you have your own talent i don't see any need for you to try and please anyone because you've got the talent, so go and show the world what you are made of!!!!!!!!go for it !!!who cares about what people r gonna say? you can fly with flying colours so go for it!!!!
I dont think so as long as youre talented and there is stage makup in the world. Follow your dream!
    makeup.
It doesnt matter what you look like. You sound like a normal person to me. So, why not give it a shot. Dancing is so much fun. I have been a dancer since I was 4, and I'm 13 now. Also, I sorta have a weight problem, and I still dance perfectly. Just try makeup, and if it doesnt work out, dont worry about about. You gave it your best shot, and nobody should judge you by what you look like! Good Luck!!!
They have to be pretty- thats you! i have a small mole under my eye also and i have been dancing for 5 years! If you get a costume that is sleeveles- MAKEUP! it always works for me! and you really shouldnt feel weird about your self , best dancers are confident about themselves not shy! It is not bad to have marks that are visible for a dancer i hope this helped!

Yes, but the winner gets featured on Qantas planes, and the runners up end up in sticks of kangaroo salami.
Is it true that Australians have to continually put up with silly questions from people who are obsessed with asking dumb questions regarding kangaroos???

But...they have been known to look quite good in an evening gown, though. They don't need a handbag, that's built-in.
Of course. American women are allowed to enter too. That makes it a fair contest.
No. It isn't true at all.
where the heck do you get these questions from? you need to find something else to occupy your time with.
yeah, you should see miss December Roo in a G-string. Woooo, she is tasty.
    Aren't you bored yet?
No . they only have hip hop venues for them to attend at the moment. They are bushies so haven't got the facilities for that . that is really for the townies so only the beautifully coloured Lorrikeets and parakeets enter our beauty contests
