I'm 14 years old and all I ever hear is ';cleanse,tone,exfoliate etc...';
So I thought I would give it a try. You need to exfoliate, cleanse, tone, steam, mask but in what order? What order do I do all this in and do I need to moisturise after all this?!
Thanks for all your help xWhat order do I do my new beauty regime in?
Okay Steam and mask are like once a week things so they dont really fit into a daily regime.
Exfoliate then cleanse then tone then moisturise
Use a cleanser, then a toner (liquid) and then use a moisturiser.
If you have oily skin use light cleansers and moisturisers but if you have dry skin you can use ';heavier'; products.
If you have spots restrict the moisturiser and use a tea tree moisturiser (tea tree is good for spots).
As for steaming and masks- Once a week take an hour or two out to ';pamper'; yourself!!
Boil some water and pour it into a large bowl, hold your head above the bowl and drape a towel over your head. If you get too hot pull yourself away for a few seconds and then come back.
With masks its very important to apply it carefully avoiding the eye area, then put cucumber slices over your eyes and relax for 20-30 minutes. Then gently wash off or peel off the mask.
Its very important to test all the products on your skin to make sure your not allergic and follow the instructions on the packet.
Hope this helps xWhat order do I do my new beauty regime in?
You should always clean first !
After that exfoliate %26amp; steam OR mask !
Always tone and moisturise after that !
Exfoliate not more than once a week at your age !
Use sunscreen even in the winter and
moisturise, moisturise, moisturise !
Good luck it is very good that you look after your skin at an early age !

How do you host a high school beauty pageant?
I have to host a beauty pageant at school and have no idea where to start. Has anyone hosted one? Where do I start and what do I need to do?How do you host a high school beauty pageant?
You'll most likely want to make a checklist.
- Panel of Judges
- Location where it will be hosted
- Setting a date
- Preliminary Tests for Contestants
- List of Essay Questions to ask Beauty Pageants
- Chaperones
- Finding local sponsorship
- Media and Publications (Local Newspapers and ads)
- Grading Criteria on what constitutes a Beauty Pageant Queen
- Optional Miss Congeniality
- List of Prices for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place
- Contractual obligations of Pageant Entrants must sign
- List of dos and don'ts in the Contract Pageant Contestants sign
If this is for high school, I assume that your staff you take on will be volunteer or people at the high school helping you with this project. You don't want to be overburdened. So delegate certain tasks on people you know you can rely on.
Since this is high school, there most likely won't be a swimsuit competition so there will have to be some other way of measuring Physical Beauty in a tasteful way. The Panel of Judges will take care of that.
You may want to choose distinguished individuals within your community or from the high school staff willing to serve as judges. For the judges you choose, assign them to come up with 5 questions they'll want to ask testing the Intelligence of contestants.
Sponsorships and getting local advertising to help fund the event would help a lot if they can put up posters/banners or get mention of thanks for having donated money to allow the event to be possible.
You may want to try researching in your town. If you ask around, you may be able to find the people who do the local pageants when they select winners for the County. They may be able to give you some advice or tips. How do you host a high school beauty pageant?
Oh Boy, if I had to do that, I would (and pardon the expression) just throw up!

Is beauty a sign of moral worth?
Schopenhauer thought so.
Of course one can find exceptions. Heydrich, one of the biggest Nazi war criminals, was very good looking. On the other hand, Mother Theresa was no oil painting.
But is it true as a general rule, even given that there are exceptions? Is beauty a sign of moral worth?
Beauty might be linked to codes, so to say, like for instance as we do to our family kids calling them pretty or ugly accordingly to acts. People's criteria are different on judging each others beauty skills - thank God, and what makes one beautiful might come from whose attention and love they get it. As we all see daily is not based upon our notion of beauty that people make choices - again thank God for what that says above all is that not visible reasons make it happenIs beauty a sign of moral worth?
they are totally separate
Of course not. Equating beauty with moral worth is simply a way to justify your negative feelings about ugly people.
No. I can't see the reasoning behind that belief at all.
Btw . . .
';On the other hand, Mother Theresa was no oil painting. ';
Mother Theresa was a fraud who was only in it to make Catholics out of the poor whose poverty she saw as a good thing.
No way some of the most beautiful people in the world don't get a second glance on the street. Beauty is inside in your heart and your mind, your thoughts and actions display true beauty not the mug parked on your shoulders.
Consider this: Paris Hilton.
Think. Can you come up with a causal effect between the two. How would beauty cause moral worth? Look around you. Is every beautiful person moral?
There's your answer, if you think correctly.
He was a philosopher..he thought so..so was Nietzsche.. ';The Picture Of Dorian Gray'; by Oscar Wilde was perhaps a more true study of the moral worth of an individual...Bing Crosby could be another... PS .Not being a spoil-sport,but have you seen that Avatar that calls himself 'ramboweasle'...Sick..I guess it takes all types. We are all Beautifull! You and I! Keep in touch...
i guess it depends on one's frame of mind determined by how life has treated him/her.
And kombred...Hello? I believe the person asking this question is talking about ';Physical'; beauty. What the hell is wrong with people who keep saying ';beauty is in the inside';? why can't you just accept that fact there really is a thing called ';Beauty';? ';Beautiful people';? ';Good looking people';?...geesh...deny deny!
hypocrites.

No, just like it is obvious intelligence is not a prerequisite for asking questions on YA.
The Constitution deals with internal government.
To think I thought the ';beauty pageant'; remark was dumb, eh?

What is the african american standard of beauty? please reply?
and yes i know they're more black people in the world besides black americans. but i think theirs would be different due to there environment. What is the african american standard of beauty? please reply?
Close to white. Or a brown person with a thin nose, thin lips, and long hair. What is the african american standard of beauty? please reply?
big booty
curves
cute lips
full lips
';good hair';
fair skin
in that order. And interestingly enough, black people have been colonised enough by whites so that those are essentially the standards of black beauty in every country where there's black people, including latin america, the caribbean, and more cosmopolitan regions of africa.
EDIT:
people who are thumbing me down are in denial...there IS a standard of beauty and its so obvious. Denying it because it offends you wont make it go away.
black people, even just the ones in america are so varied that there can't be just one standard of beauty. the only thing i can say is not obese.
vanessa williams is beautiful:

so is erykah badu:
http://www.soulbounce.com/soul/blog_imag…
personally i just think the dark color of skin is beautiful. hair color, length, and texture are irrelevant. eye color and body shape don't matter. i just think black people as a whole are beautiful
The African American standard of beauty is based on African American cultural characteristics. For example, blond hair, thin lips, and blue eyes are not African American standards of beauty.
I wasn't aware that there even was an African American standard of beauty. I think we're well aware of the fact that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, hair textures, skin colors, etc.
Sanaa Lathan
Gabrielle Union
Beyonce
Tyson Beckford
Denzel Washington
Will Smith
if you want to simplify our ';standard of beauty';
it's beyonce or halle berry.
Im beautiful whatever race i am.
idk there is alot of diffrence standards

Hi,
In my opinion, the best kind of home business is one where you don't have to invest any money. I wasted thousands of dollars buying into all kinds of home businesses including MLM and Internet franchises.
I was about to give up when I found a website that finally gave me the businesses I was looking for. The company is called Keep Clicking. Basicially, they have a big list of companies that have products. They allow me to promote these products/services and I receive a set fee for each product that I sell (or lead that I generate). I didn't pay any money to join (They actually pay you $10 to join, but only give it to you when you get $50 in your account. It took me a month, so I got the $10 then).
This allows me to have a full business with no inventory. The best part is, a lot of these offers are free trials, so I get people to sign up for about $4 (for shipping), an I get about $17! It doesn't matter if people cancel there subscriptions, I still get paid anyway. I get paid monthly by check.
Here's the link:

Good Luck!
One thing I do like about Mary Kay that most other business don't have is their mottos and philosophies which include not talking down someone else's business (ie Do unto others as you would have them do unto you...) It's a kind of intangible benefit. :)
Try this Isagenix product. I use it and love it.

Why short haired girls cant win beauty pageants?
But for some unknown reason they do well in modeling. Why short haired girls cant win beauty pageants?
yenno, i've actually always wondered that too. maybe cos short haired girls aren't commercial beauties whereas beauty pageants are all about commercial beauties. on the runway, hair isn't such a huge concern cos they do yer hair anyway. as long as you have the look and the bone structure for high fashion, yer in. like agyness deyn, i'm not a fan of her hair but you gotta admit, she looks awesome on the runway.

I would appreciate some expert opinion if this picture can be worked into something nice and how to do it. I have Photoshop CS4. If you can advise me on how I can utilize it on this one, please do.
And if you're OK with it, please do also check the photostream for photos which you think have aesthetic value. How can I bring out the beauty of the picture below?
Straighten it a bit, experiment with different crops, and brighten the levels a little. Actually, I thought that was the best from your photostream. Your landscapes mostly have crooked horizons and your compositions are too centered and static. Vary how you look at things. Shoot from high and low instead of always a standing position.. Landscapes have more impact when they have a defined foreground, middle and background. I liked the colors abounding in your images. Keep learning and practicing. How can I bring out the beauty of the picture below?
We're really spoiled these days with our computers and software and crap.
If we wanted to bring the beauty out of our pictures, we should have started with the picture itself, at the time we took the picture.
All the above are good suggestions. My suggestion? Take the picture in the early morning, or at sunset, to capture some more natural emotion from the day.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I want to take good pictures, not just play on my computer.
From having done 4 years of phoogrpahy as part of education
The curtain spoils the picture
also the angle is tilted the rest is nice tho
if ur talking about how grey the picture looks
use this website
www.tutorialized.com
check for a hue guide and lighting techniques
if u wud take the picture again i would center the child make the angle flat not tilted and remove the curtain
apart from that, good pic!
You can try the following:
+Crop the image, like stated the curtains ruin the image
+Mess with the color balance a little bit, it would be nicer if some of the colors were a wee bit more vibrant
+Remove the reflection on the left part of the window
In the end there are a number of things you could do but it all depends where you want to go with it.
for surreal feel you could change the scene in the window to a completely computer generated image.
creativity is at a low point for me at the moment urgh,
kudos for cs4, i have it to.
I've found that www.picture2life.com allows me to do some very cool stuff with my photos, so you can give it a try and it's all free.
up the vibrance (colors) and contrast. its all u got going, maybe some blurs to create depth. dodge and burn shadows and highlights make it more dramatic.

Beauty school? is it a waste of money? Can I get a good job in this career? how much did it cost you?
I'm thinking about going to beauty school, this way I can make more money and pay for my college education. I'm not sure if its a practical thing to do.Beauty school? is it a waste of money? Can I get a good job in this career? how much did it cost you?
This is a tough question. There is a perpetuated myth about our industry....That it's a good career to ';fall back on';.
Yes there is money to be made.
If you rent your station (not a good idea straight out of school) you can expect to work more then 60 hours a week and NOT make any money for quite some time. Upwards to 2 years. But the end result is money money money...all of it yours minus rent and supplies...You are reliant on that clientel and you will have to meet their demands on your schedule and hours or you will perish.
Commission yeilds the same results of having to work lots of hours with no reward for about the same 2 years. End result is 60%-70% of the money and less supplies out of pocket. Decent money and again clientel reliant...Meet the client need or no money and lose clients.
Then there is the hourly employee...You will get minimum wage or near minimum wage. You will have to work a strict schedule with nearly no weekends off. There is usually a goal oriented commission that you don't reach too often. It's set fairly high to prevent the majority from reaching it. The hours are designated so you won't be working 60+ to try to please clientel...Only immediate desk supplies are necessary and some places even provide all but the scissors.
They will hire you part time for a body to fill the space probably out of desperation...but they will resent your lack of hours when they really look at how to fit you in the schedule. Management is usually undereducated and bullyish, so you will find yourself having to complain about the schedule not fitting your college hours...You can see the vicious cycle right there..LoL
So here's the problem...If you Rent? No real money or time for school...Commission? Not enough money or time for school....Employee? Now you will have cash flow...but management will prevent you from going to school...I've seen it in every job I've held...People who go to school to do something OTHER then hairdressing get the short end of the stick...
Sorry this is so long..but I wanted to be as real as possible with you :):)Beauty school? is it a waste of money? Can I get a good job in this career? how much did it cost you?
Not True, I work as a massage therapist and a hairstylist to pay for college. I take all my classes online.?
I work 10 to 12 hours a week my massages are 75 to 85 dollars an hours if. If I do 2 massage a day at 75 dollars an hour that is 150.00 a day x 6 days a week, that is 900.00 a week. Report Abuse
You will have the other 18 hours to study, post and take your test online. I will done with school in November of 2009. It took me 15 months to receive my B.A. in Organizational Management with a minor in Psychology. I am 40 years old and single dad and I did it
you can do it. :-)Tim Report Abuse
No and school is like 1800 s semester
Well if you already good at it.....you should go to beauty school so you can do it legally. But if you want money for school get a job.
Sure is can be a good career, then you could even open up your own salon and work for yourself.
I'm sure that cost vary by region.
beauty is very complicated you could make somebody look ugly or pretty or beautiful.so if you can hook people up and make them look fly then go ahead and try.zits

No and school is like 1800 s semester
Well if you already good at it.....you should go to beauty school so you can do it legally. But if you want money for school get a job.
Sure is can be a good career, then you could even open up your own salon and work for yourself.
I'm sure that cost vary by region.
beauty is very complicated you could make somebody look ugly or pretty or beautiful.so if you can hook people up and make them look fly then go ahead and try.
How can I get into the beauty industry?
I have a biology BSc (degree) and was wondering if there are any careers I could go into in the beauty industry with it, or whether I should just retrain as a beautician?
I really enjoy the joys that make-up, cosmetics and hair styles etc can bring to people, and I'm really creative and ';hands on';.
Thanks

retrain to do hair and makeup and stuff you have to have a license...to get a license you have to know what you're doing.

How can blind people understand what beauty is when they lack sight ?
i think the blind have a better grasp on beauty than most people because they aren't distracted by physical appearance. true beauty is not physical, it is inner beauty, and you find true inner beauty through talking to people rather than looking at them. How can blind people understand what beauty is when they lack sight ?
as many people say beauty is on the inside, so when you can't see peoples insides by using your eyes the blind have nothing to loose with their disabilityHow can blind people understand what beauty is when they lack sight ?
The same way that a person can love someone who is physically very unattractive (ugly) and when they can tell you that person is so beautiful. They are not seeing (meaning they are blind to) the physical unsightliness of the person but they see the beauty that is within the person.
When you are blind you notice things more thru sound %26amp; touch which are things that you take for granted when you can see. when you are blind there are a lot of things that are more bueatiful like the sounds of birds singing or the sound of rain or the sound of my children laughing. if you can see these things you don't really notice the beauty of the music they make. One other thing you don't see is the uglieness of man and the ugly things people do. believe it or not Things are simpler when you cant see.
i think that they would be able to feel it spiritually. i know that kind of sounds religious but thats what i think. they could probably also know it with that persons personality.
What they may lack in ';sight'; they usually more than makeup in ';insight'; AND touch-and-other-senses-based (think of it as Analog-to-digital conversion) mental reconstruction. ... If the passion is there, sight is a mere detail.
they understand the true meaning of beauty. philosophically, beauty is the awesomeness of life :)
they realize that a person's beauty is not in personality, it was in a person's heart..... they don't have to see it but they can feel it better rather than us....
Beauty is not limited to sight. It's merely a label we as humans attach to something that is pleasing to our senses, whether it be sound, sight, or even touch.
I'm a guitarist. I hear certain guitarists play, and I can hear the beauty.
Well if you only way of defining beauty is visual, you need to grow more... Stay in school.
They can see the Real beauty: The beauty of actions and thoughts.
they won't be deceived by appearance..
The old cliche ';beauty is in the eyes of the beholder'; applies even to this question, because even ';blind'; people, or those who lack sight, can appreciate beauty, but it is through their own ';eyes'; or perspective that they do so.
This can apply to people who are literally blind or to those who are blind to beauty, metaphorically speaking.
Maybe they are the only ones that understand real beauty as they are not getting ';blind'; by the fake external beauty, at least for people :)
I think they analyze beauty through touch and sound. They feel the person's facial features and can picture it in their minds. That's my opinion though.
I don't think that beauty is restricted to sight alone. I've smelt, tasted, felt and heard beautiful things before. They say that your other senses heighten when you don't have one of the five senses. Imagine what eating's like, tasting flavors better than everyone else. If you want to know what it's like close your eyes and just listen to music, you don't have to have the ability of sight to see beauty.
they can feel it...they still have feelings and w/e feels great must be beautiful by the descriptions others give them.
Beauty doesn't have to been seen. Beauty can be heard, smelled (such as flowers etc), acted out (such as a good deed), or thought. Beauty is a concept that is different by everyone's standards, including blind people.
they go by personalty of the people the know, and they depend on other people to make sure they look good.
I think blind people understand beauty better than people who can see. Though we have this ability, we're blinded by superficiality and judgement through what we see, while blind people in that same respect can see better than we can because they 'look' past that surface. When they experience beauty, they experience it purely. When you sit out on a lake in a boat and hear geese go by, smell the breeze, hear the trickle of the water as it moves past the sides, and feel the sun on your face, that's a sort of beauty. Your other senses can experience that. A blind person doesn't know he's on a lake unless he's told, so he gets the full experience of those senses without his sight obstructing them. This is why a lot of people, when experiencing something beautiful, like a kiss or a cool starry night, will close their eyes and relax and listen (and most importantly feel) instead of look.
They can feel it and see it in their hearts.

What is the biggest misconception about beauty?
It's a physical thing.
Beauty is internal, and this is a fact that is sadly ignored. What is the biggest misconception about beauty?
Having white skin, being thin/skinny and putting tons of make-up.What is the biggest misconception about beauty?
That thin is in.
Society forces the belief onto woman that skinny=pretty, and as a result, so many girls have eating disorders. Another misconception is that beauty lies on the outside, when the true beauty lies within the heart.
that thin is the only pretty
that you have to be super skinny and have piles of make up to look beautiful...
That it's actually important. Back when we were primitive cavemen, we had no concept of beauty, and we lived just fine.
That the girl needs a whole lot of work before she is pretty nowadays. Women are always worrying about their looks, often to the point of getting work done on everything. Even when they don't, they stress out over what is there; which of course only adds wrinkles and gray hair much more quickly.
The best look a girl can go with is a natural look. A black girl with blonde hair or a white girl with pink hair doesn't look right. A 100 lb. girl with 30 lb boobs does not fit and it doesn't look right. Gold teeth do not look good on anyone.
Sure, put some work into looking good, be proud of your looks. But enough with the add-ons and surgeries and so on. It doesn't look real and that takes away from beauty.
A smile goes much farther than a blonde anorexic with boobs that make it difficult for her to walk because of the imbalance.
That it is a woman's greatest value.
That its only one what the inside that counts. For cereal... Anyone who thinks that has some wierd problems because the chief reason people meet others is by physical appearance.
That people always like the pretty person, when in fact it is a curse it seems like most are jealous and mean.
That natural isn't beautiful. Women have body hair. Only little girls are hairless and pube-less, and women waxing, plucking and getting electrolysis all over to look like hairless little girls, and men being attracted to this, disturbs me slightly.

Do you believe that there is beauty from pain?
So, I'm listening to the song ';beauty from pain'; by superchick, and I guess I'm just wondering what you think. Do you think there's always beauty from pain? Do you think the pain that life sometimes puts us through..is worth it in the end?Do you believe that there is beauty from pain?
yeah, I do think that from every PAIN there is BEAUTY. the pain you feel makes the times when you aren't feeling pain all the more beautiful, if makes you stronger and wiser.
Like, your life is a patchwork quilt. Each experience you've every had is a square, each a different hue, texture, size, shape. The more you FEEL, the more you ARE. The bad alongside the good makes it seem better. And you look down at the patchwork quilt, see how beautiful it is, because it's you, the dark squares beside the bright colours, and you think how beautiful the contrast is, and yet there isn't any contrast, because they are one, working together.Do you believe that there is beauty from pain?
no not always. pain may turn some people into pessimists or concerned people. you can as well learn something about yourself, about love and life if there is pain. yes. i'm not so sure though if it is always worth going through - take care
Of course! I believe that redemption -- God turning something that was meant for destruction, into hope and life, is one of the primary joys of being alive. I also happen to believe that sometimes a redeemed a life -- a life that was turned from brokenness into beauty -- is actually more ';beautiful'; than a life that was perfect to begin with. Our God is a God of redemption.
im not sure about beauty, though beauty is what i live for/because of. its hard to define, yeh? but i have found that in my life the worst experiences have also, in the end, had something in them which has enriched my life, and which i would be much poorer, spiritually, emotionally, etc. without. i think everything contains its own opposite. i have found beauty in my own pain, often, but that is so subjective. i hope it is all worth it in the end.
Throughout my life I had many things to deal with both good and bad. There have been times where I have fallen a stray but I have always managed to find my way back towards the light.
The rough times in life have taught me what it is like to deal with hardships. Through this, I am able to feel more sympathy/compassion and understanding towards others who are having it rough. This helps the heart, spirit, and mind to grow, since more compassion and understanding can come from life's trials.
They can help to further build a persons character and allow them to further appreciate all the positive things that God has to offer us all, bringing us ever closer to him.
Throughout history countless people have truly changed the world that we live in. How?
By creating many beautiful/innovative speeches, poems/poetry, books/novels, music, art, inventions and so on that have been created by several people who have acted upon their dreams and visions and came through it all with vibrant colours and have truly opened the hearts and minds of countless people throughout history, the present, and yes the future as well.
You may ask, how did they manage to get through it all and create these many wonders/marvels?
Many of them dealt with hard times that have helped to build there characters and allowed them to have the strength, determination and passion that they needed to get through it all. If they were just to give up when things got rough we would not be where we are today.
I feel that the Lord gives us all these trials to help us to think for ourselves, allowing us to better ourselves and become closer to him. Without trials in the world that we live in today, it would be very hard to better ourselves and to truly appreciate the Lords never ending love.
If we are going to eventually live in a new world (New Heaven and Earth) we need to learn how to work together and allow life's trails to help build us up so that we can truly achieve this goal
(Embrace peace, love/compassion, and understanding for a better tomorrow!!).
Together, with the Lord by our side we will know what it is like to live in a new Heaven and Earth so that we can be set free for all time. Let us work together and help to spread the word to as many people as possible.
Together we are strong, and with the Lord guiding us, he will see us through it all and we will eventually live in a world filled with never ending awe and wonder. Stay strong, and NEVER give up. We will make it through this life one way or another and with God, there is no way that we can loose when everything is said and done. Yes odds are that we will end up loosing battles in life, but we will win in the end.
The new Heaven and Earth WILL be a reality, and yes there will be many trials and learning curves to overcome, but we will make it through, and the Lord will see to it that the new Heaven and Earth will be a reality :-)

I truly have faith in humanity and believe that someday our lives and the world in which we live will truly be transformed for the better.
I dont know about beauty. It forms character and that has presence.
i think its more there might be beauty ';after'; pain like giving birth or creating something from tricky materials.
sure but the beauty might manifest itself in just wisdom and maturity which is beautiful

Have you ever went to a beauty school for a hair job?
Hah, yeah hair job. Whatever it may have been you know, cut, style, colour, etc. How did it turn out?Have you ever went to a beauty school for a hair job?
they have to learn sometime. I'm glad that the people who came in to my school had the balls. I still have a little old lady who followed me 5 years later.Have you ever went to a beauty school for a hair job?
yes, and it took 4 hours for a haircut
but i also went through beauty school myself and so i know how it is...if you are gonna go there, be sure to request someone who is going to graduate soon
never have and i wouldnt try it unless i saw their work beforehand...keep in mind they are still in training...you're practically their guineapig
I went to a beauty college for a hair cut and it turned out great, and it was very cheap. The hair cut was supervised by an instructor.
Yes it was okay but the students were a little shy afraid to work with the hair but the results werent bad I was suprised at the results they were actually pretty good
DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! your hair will come out terrible. they are learning, so just leave it to the poor dummies to take the bad haircuts. oe of my friends has really curly hair and when she got her haircut at a beauty school her bangs ended up on the top of her forehead.I wouldn't risk it.

Why do I love white female beauty so much?
When I see a beautiful white woman, it puts me into a very happy mood. In fact, she brightens my whole day by just smiling at me and saying: ';Hi.';
All my life, I have loved white female beauty. Accordingly, white women that are not beautiful to me I am not attracted to whatsoever. However, a beautiful white woman, I will throw myself at her feet.
Having said this, I do not believe that all other types of women are ugly but I'm just in awe of white female beauty.
What's your ';race';?Why do I love white female beauty so much?
Well just like other people, you have a preference for certain traits and characteristics, it's no different than if someone was attracted specifically to individuals who are black, white, or of another race or ethnicity. You are in awe because that's what you find attractive. Why do I love white female beauty so much?
BECAUSE YOU're actually a white PERSON......
duh.... you're PRETENDING TO BE COLORED.....
yet behind your screen name you're white...
ADIOS
I am mixed race, white/asian but i suppose everybody as their preferences to who they are attracted to

Where is some of the natural beauty in Seattle?
I just moved to the city and am looking for the sights... lakes? rivers? beaches? mountains? forests? What are some of the nearest locations that I can and should visit? Thank you if you have any suggestions!Where is some of the natural beauty in Seattle?
- head East on I-90. First you'll come to Snoqualmie Falls which is in Snoqualmie, the town just past Issaquah. Follow the signs on the highway. Get back on I-90 and continue driving East and you'll see Mount Si in North Bend. A bit further East and you'll be at Snoqualmie Pass - ski area during winter and the highest point on I-90 in the Cascades. Drive beyond that and you'll reach Roslyn, a really quaint mining town that was ';Cicely, Alaska'; in TV's ';Northern Exposure'; series.
- Discovery Park - short walk out to a bluff with breathtaking views of Puget Sound
- Twin Falls Hike - Olallie State Park, North Bend (Google for directions) moderate hike to a double waterfall
- Cougar Mountain, Squak Mountain - both of these are in Issaquah and a very short drive from Seattle. Lots of hiking trails.
- Parks - there's gazillions of them and most have lots of trails.
- ferries - hop a ferry out of Seattle to Bainbridge Island. Spend the day exploring Bainbridge or from Bainbridge drive North to the Olympic Peninsula. Hurricane Ridge in Port Angeles is a must see. Gorgeous views of the Olympics. Dungeness Spit in Port Angeles is a really nice beach hike out to a lighthouse you can go up inside.
Go to Half Price Books and pick up a book or two on the area. There's loads of them. I think I bought one of each when I first moved here :)
Where is some of the natural beauty in Seattle?
For beaches...
Alki Beach in West Seattle.
The Waterfront downtown along Alaskan Way.
Further south where I am, Seahurst and Saltwater Parks.
Those all have nice views of the Sound.
Mt Rainier is about an hour and a half drive away, but it's really the best big nature area that is close. The mountain is huge plus there's forests, a lake and rivers all around it.
Go to the Arboretum right now - very pretty
Gasworks park
I love camping at Lake Easton in the summer
The gorge at george!

What to look for in a Beauty College?
Hello, i am planning to get my hair cut tomorrow like this:
http://a274.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/55/l_a2b93eaa2d1e1b4fe28d376ece039309.jpg
What do I want to look for in the students?
And do you think they will be trained enough to get me that achieved look?
And do you think i should be going to a beauty college in the first place? What to look for in a Beauty College?
I am a cosmetology student. As long as the students are not afraid to ask for help you shouldn't be afraid. Be prepared though you may be there a while since they are learning.

If you had to choose between beauty or intellegence what would you choose?
I would always choose intellegence over beauty, how about you?If you had to choose between beauty or intellegence what would you choose?
Intelligence lasts longer than beauty. If you had to choose between beauty or intellegence what would you choose?
With beauty you will get no where in life, eevn if someone said, wow you are so beautiful and gets a modelling agnecy, without intelligence, you wouldnt know how to model! With intelligence I could gain beauty, inner beauty, and then learn beauty tips with my intelligence. So i would choose intelligence.
both...iam am greedy
Well, it's not that I picked it, but God gave more intelligence than beauty. That said, I'm smart enough to know what looks best on me and how to present myself with confidence. Intelligence all the way!
It would depend on what you are seeking ... if you're seeking to attract someone and get at least an opening, a way to break the ice then you don't want to put them off with bad clothes, hair, grimy teeth ... you want to be attractive.
I tend to think that everyone is intelligent, just each in their own way. A surfer knows surfing, a musician is no rocket scientist but can be a brilliant musician.
Therefore, If you want to have compatibility and a long term relationship then you need to have similar interests and knowledge of similar things. But even brilliant musicians may need something to draw them in ... right?
id rather be pretty cuz ppl dont want to get 2 kno u on the inside if u look all jacked up on the outside ( =
Intelligence, because brains come over beauty. Whats the point of talking to someone if they have nothing to talk about, but beauty. Beauty will get boring after a while, but brains will always last. Its always great to have both, though!
Well, I'm an airhead now so I'll just stick with that! lol
For myself: beauty, for my partner: intelligence- simply because its much easier for a woman to get by on her looks than it is for a man. Luckily, I have both so I have an equal perspective on the value of beauty and intelligence. On the other hand, beauty is in the eye of the beholder- so intelligence will probably be of greater benefit over the course of a lifetime. With intelligence, one is able to rationalize and look past appearances to enjoy the pleasures in life. A dumb beauty may not be as keen to appreciating these simple life pleasures, but will have the admiration of others who do enjoy the beautiful things in life.
Intelligence.
Though I am fortunate to have both!
(and yes, I am a self-centered, egotistical ******... lol)
as a friend...intelligence
as a lover....beauty
bonus if you get both!
those with beauty sometimes get exceptional breaks - like vanna white - you don't need brains to turn the lighted square for $1,000,000 a year
Hey, I remember answering the same question a while ago!
I believe that it is a lot easier to get around in the society if you are pretty. With brains, it is easier to gain respect and it is easier to make money. This would be important in its own right. And as a society we definitely need more intelligent people, yet neither one is pleasing to me without a pure heart. With this said, smarter people tend to have a clearer picture what to do and what not to do. Therefore they are less prone to be morally corrupt. Personally, I'd definitely wished that I was a little smarter. I never wished that I had better looks, though.
Intellegence cause beauty can be bought now-a-days!
I'm taking intelligence
Intelligence for sure. Beauty is temporary. We all get old and wrinkly in time. Intelligence lasts for years beyond beauty.
I'd rather date a nice intelligent man than an average handsome one. But that's just me.
Intelligence, but I'd want some balance of the two. More brains than looks, but I want to be attractive enough for my dog to play with me.
intellegence. I hate being around pretty girls who are idiots.

I saw a documentary about US Beauty Pageants - the catfights and bitchiness was unbelieveable?
especially the way some parents behaved.
Does this really happen and are beauty pageants actually good for the competitors? If so, why?I saw a documentary about US Beauty Pageants - the catfights and bitchiness was unbelieveable?
They really aren't that bad - but yes there are thos psycho girls that believe their lives are pageantry. Then they turn 23 and don't know what to do. (I guess thats why they made the ';Mrs America and Mrs. Senior America pageants lol)
Documentaries and shows tend to oomp the arguments and alot of times those people are egged on, just for the sake of entertainment.
I've done 3 pageants and most of the girls were very kind and supportive of eachother.
Pageants (Miss America pageants anyway) teach you to be very well rounded.

40% Interview

there is no bicheness in any pageants you can't allways belive every thing you hear Report Abuse
yes it really happens. its sad but these girls are prepared from birth to behave this way. and when they don't win they cry and momma gets angry cause of all the money that is spent going to these things. personally i think they should be banned. not a healthy way to raise a child thats for sure.zits

What is a good piano song to play as my talent for a beauty pageant?
It is the preliminary pageant to the Miss New Jersey pageant for Miss America. What is a good piano song to play as my talent for a beauty pageant?
James Blunt's ';Beautiful';What is a good piano song to play as my talent for a beauty pageant?
Depends on your talent. Pick either something fast that won't bore people, or something that everyone knows....like a beatles song.
WOW!!!! Congratulations, you are sooo lucky!
You should play some national anthem or something. Or some other patriotic song.
If you want to go a little less patriotic try Chopsticks or something pretty and light from Beethoven. Avoid dark, gloomy songs...
You can't go wrong with Fur Elise

Why is major college football a beauty pageant?
miss america 2007 and the eventual national champion are determined in the same way, and this is troublesome. the beauty pageant is even better-the models don't vote for themselves. in ncaa div.1a the coaches can vote for their own team-this is insane- ultimately the players pay the price-instead of their hard work being judged by the dictates of the gridiron, it is decided by money-hungry predators looking to line their pockets. they don't care about the game; if this is kept up people will turn away from itWhy is major college football a beauty pageant?
I have the ultimate solution.
There are 4 major Bowls.
Rose
Fiesta
Orange
Sugar
You qualify if you win these conferences:
SEC
Big 10
Big 12
ACC
Big East
Pac-10
4 at large qualify:
Notre Dame/ highest BCS standings/ Any undefeated team in Div-1
Have the 4 bowls be the first round.
The 4 winners play each other based on BCS standings.
College football gets more revenue by having 3 more games.
Have the 2 second round games in Detroit (beautiful field)
and in Phoenix (another beauty)
Rotate the BCS championship game site, just like the NFL.Why is major college football a beauty pageant?
I love college football and you are absolutely right on this one. The BCS is ridiculous this year. I thought that strength of schedule played into the formula...you could never tell it by me this year. Can someone explain why OSU has a SOS of 62 and they are ranked #1 in the BCS. Most common folks can not even remotely afford the price of bowl tickets this year. I understand that the participating colleges and conferences split this money...but come on!!!!
If all of the coaches voted for themselves, it would be a tie.
The system we have now has its problems, but it is much better than what we had in the past. Besides, it gives everyone something to argue about.
I don't see anyone walking away from it anytime soon!

TruBlend foundation
Mineral powder long wear
Hair...
A good flat iron and curling iron. I would get it at a Sally's Beauty Supply they have really good ones. You don't want to skimp on these.
Hope this helped. What are some of your staple beauty products?
There's this skin care line that's part of my daily regimen. It's an awesome skin care product line that's actually based on your DNA.
There are a lot of skin care products out there that will say that they will do this and that for your skin, but few really address it's unique, specific needs. I found this awesome line of skin care products that is actually based on your DNA, so it's extremely personalized and works well with the specific needs of your skin.
It's from a company called GeneWize, a wholly owned direct-selling subsidiary of a publically traded genetic biosciences company (GeneLink, Inc.) that uses DNA-based genetic tests as the basis for personalizing health, beauty, wellness products. You can find it here: http://www.dnagenewizescience.com/.
The LifeMap Nutrition鈩?System is the first customized nutritional and optimal health system where nutritional supplement ingredients and products are genetically matched to an individual's DNA.
I've been using it for a while and it really has done wonders for my skin. I recommend it that you try it especially if your skin has special needs.

Beauty Pageant telephone interview to become a contestant-what types of questions will they ask?
What types of questions should I ask?
Any other tips?
Would it be an imprudent idea, to go ahead and write down (and reherse) some potential answers to common questions...Beauty Pageant telephone interview to become a contestant-what types of questions will they ask?
I got mymodeling start at a local pageant and just signed w/ a big name agent this week. Pageants are a great place to get your career rolling. Most of the time the interviewer will want to know what will make you a good representative of their pageant. How will you be a good role model? What are your interests? Community involvement? Hobbies? What makes you unique and sets you apart from the other contestants??? These to me are the harder ones...they will not ask about world peace...Other than that just make sure to be familiar w/ the info you filled in on your original bio sheet. That is where most of the questions will probably come from. Good Luck!!!Beauty Pageant telephone interview to become a contestant-what types of questions will they ask?

How do i get rid of beauty spots?
You see, im only a teenager, but as time goes by, i have noticed, what others call, beauty marks on my face.
you might think that im pretty, but im not, and its the beauty spots that make me unhappy. i dont have one, i have 5, scattered all over my face. i dont like it. can you help? How do i get rid of beauty spots?
hi, i also have the same problem as you, and i hate them, i usually cover them up with concealer but it has to be very dark as the marks are dark. How do i get rid of beauty spots?
have surgery or cover them up with foundation, then cover-up on top. but make sure it's the same skin tone so that it doesn't look to orange in the sunlight.
idk maybe use cover up?

Are you passionate about truth and beauty?
What's your truth and beauty, can you be true to yourself and answer from your own experience? Are you passionate about truth and beauty?
yes.. im passionate about truth and beauty
truth to me is love , truth is that which reminds you of your true self, of your true essence , is your real fulfillment , which makes you 'you' or closest to you,and beauty is happiness, bliss, love, joy and further thats indescribable. Beauty is the object of love and love itself....I cant describe
but a short phrase would sum my perspective- ';Satyam Shivam Sundaram'; it means ';Truth is Shiva, Shiva is truth and Shiva is beautiful';
ps - a beautiful truthful question :) lolAre you passionate about truth and beauty?
The truth is that I cannot work it out for the love of me, it looks like a frozen wave but then again it maybe a hand reaching out of the earth in front of me.
The beauty of the truth is that I cannot recognise it if it hit me in the head, even-though the elders tell me it is from Dream Time so long ago they have forgotten what it is.
These are all I've ever been passionate about, considering that for me they embrace both sex and art. Seems from earliest times I knew that size counts, as I perceive everything against a cosmic backdrop. From this vantage, I am left with the conclusion that my identity (as is yours, and that of our readers) is basically Awareness. This is the common denominator persisting through all appearance, experience and viscisitude. Awareness is the unalterable which charges the smallest particle of matter, else how could the quark/anti-quark aspects of a nucleon perform their function? Awareness characterizes all things, sub-atomic or boundless, and is the frequency pemitting response to commands of the creative power. Thus water may flow from the rock, mountains may be moved, or the Universe disappear with a roar. Awareness is the Divine Presence permeating everything. In ancient times primitives illustrated the phenomenon as myriad eyes covering a beast, or myriad eyes filling a landscape. Awareness is Ultimate Intelligence experiencing his works.
The truth is everything and everything is beautiful and yes I am passionate about it.
I don't know what my truth is, I think its the same as everyone else's. The beauty comes from our different points of view.
Beauty is realized through acceptance of the truth...that's art.
When I'm true to myself and I'm focused on my work it is beautiful. It sounds inflated, but to others who can perceive the truth it is beautiful as well.
I am passionate about truth and beauty because I am passionate about life, and these are both qualities of the oneness of life. Truth is resonance with reality or, one could say, a lack of self-contradiction. Beauty is revelation of the unity behind all diversity, and always exhibits a lack of self-contradiction.
Great question!
~Michael
My truth is that ethics is a personal responsibility. One can look for advice and wisdom, but the decisions are still yours to make.
To me, beauty is everywhere, in all that is. Even that which is broken or damaged, there is a kind of beauty. That which elevates the observer is beauty, and that which makes the observer think. It might make you smile or it might make you cry, but it moves you.
Yes, lately I've become very passionate about Truth and Beauty!
To me, truth and beauty is God's words, scriptures, rituals and everything that takes us closer to God. I've realized that a person can be happy with all other unwanted things but it doesn't last long. The only truth and beauty lasts forever in the path of God! Everything seems to be truthful and beautiful when we do anything that takes us closer to God!
I'm 60 years old and I still spend my most meaningful moments writing and talking about truth and beauty. I have thought about ';truth'; a lot. First truth, as Kierkegaard suggests, is found in passionate subjectivity (inwardness). Second truth, is analytical--meaning tautological. Third truth is empirical--Consistency/Correspondence. There may be more ';truths'; but I think they will always conform to one's ';nominal definition'; of said truth.
Ultimately, my passion for truth and beauty can be summarized 1) ';All things are interconnected;'; and 2) in my description of a personal youthful experience I had while bicycling down into a gorgeous canyon sunset from high in Wyoming's Big Horn Mountains, an experience that has fueled my passions ever since:
As the sun got closer to the horizon, it added a rich yellow hue to the already spectacularly colored canyon walls, the walls of Ten Sleep Canyon. The vision was as overpowering as it was irresistible.
On wings of light, sailing down the mountain, I lost all feelings of attachment and weight. The farther down into the canyon I went the more I was filled with the overwhelming beauty of the place. I felt transparent to my surroundings. It was at that time, in the beauty of it all, when suddenly, as if a chair had been pulled out from under me, I felt the contours of my body (my exteriors) collapse. What was left of me after that was/is impossible to describe, but it felt like this: “It was Wow! Amazing! I was upside down and inside out.”
A feeling of “grasping,” of “being engaged” substituted for what used to be my body; but even that connection, that subject-object connection, was extraordinarily strange because I felt it from the outside – in, not from the inside – out. I did not fight it. I just let it happen. In that joyous trembling, throbbing, moment, zooming down the mountain, with a warm wind in my face and unbelievable beauty everywhere, I metamorphosed into an infinite array of connection with my environment. I had no idea as to what had just happened to me, but it was a fantastically passionate experience. There was no anxiety, fear, or negatives of any kind in it. I had never felt that way before (nor probably will again).
As I reached the canyon floor, I knew that if I died right then and there, it would be okay. From the vantage point of being inside my outside environment death had no meaning. It was an illusion. Once I had gotten outside of myself, once I became entwined within the environment, the Truth that death was an illusion was everywhere apparent. When I started peddling again it was as if I was peddling in a dream.
Not as much as i should be. All too often i use quotes and teachings of others. :-(
My truth and beauty is that love IS. We can try and define it or compartmentalise it but the reality is we a swept away by it and liberated by it. Love is the cause of all causes, it is the love of life that makes us live, the love of knowledge that makes us learn, the love of wisdom that makes us understand.

As long as I am aware of it, yes. lol Some things I just don't see unless they are pointed out. Perspective I guess. But, yes, truth and beauty go hand in hand for me. For me it is my spirit turning somersaults because I acknowedged and given it the reins in my life. Truth beautifies your life.
Truth is unknown, cant be tell but perceived by after reaching that Stage.
For Beauty: for different persons, its definition is different.
If thats the case, I m looking for none.
A life devoid of beauty and a personality devoid of experience of pleasure in the beautiful are indeed incomplete ...truth is beauty.
I'm passionate about the truth of beauty and the beauty of truth. I am beautiful and that's the truth.
Cheers!
I am Passionate about Life.
TheTruth and the Beauty of it.... are in the Eyes of the Beholder.....
(each perspective has it's own view).
truth and beauty are ever changing it is not fixed, beauty is perfection with flaws and truth has many faces (!)
I am my own truth...
Beauty is what I am capable of...
Neither can exists seperately
They can try... But I'd just be lying to myself...
About truth ,ya.
%26amp; about beauty of nature.
Truth and beauty equal to Peace. Passion is not a quality which speaks of Peace.
yes.. im passionate about truth and beauty
truth to me is love , truth is that which reminds you of your true self, of your true essence , is your real fulfillment , which makes you 'you' or closest to you,and beauty is happiness, bliss, love, joy and further thats indescribable. Beauty is the object of love and love itself....I cant describe
but a short phrase would sum my perspective- ';Satyam Shivam Sundaram'; it means ';Truth is Shiva, Shiva is truth and Shiva is beautiful';
ps - a beautiful truthful question :) lolAre you passionate about truth and beauty?

Beauty and Fashion tips and ideas for 1st day of school?
I'm going into 8th grade. Have long dark blonde hair with light blonde highlights as result to my pink completely fading out. Should I leave it blonde or dye the streaks pink again?
I have green eyes, glasses, am 5'3'' (I'm not sure what that helps), fair skin, I would put a picture from my digital camera on here, but I have no clue how, lol. Anyway any tips, ideas will help.I wanna make a good 1st impression and stuff.Beauty and Fashion tips and ideas for 1st day of school?
Leave it blonde, but get hilights and lowlights in it!Beauty and Fashion tips and ideas for 1st day of school?
Remember that 1st impressions are important, so unless you are going to present yourself with a style you will maintain and feel comfortable about, people will wonder if you change 'looks.' It might be better just to not place attention on yourself. Later, when people get to know you, they will feel more comfortable with the idea of your changing styles. In fact, you could even ask them for suggestions.
Pull your hair up in a bun. Put lowlights and Highlights in. Wear a super cute top and some gorgeous jeans. Also flats. Like they say shoes can make or brake your outfitt. So be careful. Dont do anything to your glasses. they're fine. Makeup. A fair pink blush. Light pink eyeshdow. Glossy lipgloss. Don't forget Jewlery. There you go.
Iv'e always thought people with fair skin, and green eyes looked good with red hair. Just be sure and look at the box, if it shows the dark blonde hair turning ronald mcdonald red, don't do it! Maybe ask a stylist for help, a super hott razor cut that tapers to your face, and a dye job could have people noticing you in a big way. It's 8th grade, the perfect time to expeiriment with your look, and have fun! I think people will like you no matter what your hair color is, as long as you have a great personality %26amp; remember to have fun this year, and stay away from those older boys.
just wear it blond with no pink and i'm going to 8th grade too just wear jeans and a super cute top with flats and don't forget the jewerly
Just wear whatever is comfortable, something that you really like. Dont be afraid to wear something because you think other people wont like it, who cares if they dont, more people will respect you if you be who you are.
Have fun

Do women know that standards of beauty have been around as long as we have been sentient?
So how can you blame your image issues on magazines and such?Do women know that standards of beauty have been around as long as we have been sentient?
Many years ago, Marilyn Monroe was considered the most gorgeous woman on Earth. By today's standards, she's fat.
Britney's body is still the envy of girls the world over. Now that her abs aren't exactly as tight as they were the last time she performed at the VMAs, she's fat.
A contestant on America's Next Top Model was considerally taller than the average woman, and was also bulimic. Janice Dickinson told her that she looked ';two months pregnant.'; Or, fat.
Those standards have changed a VERY good deal, and the media is to blame. But women should train themselves to ignore it.Do women know that standards of beauty have been around as long as we have been sentient?
It's hard NOT to ';let things affect you'; when you're inundated by them and basically can't escape them no matter where you go. It's called ';culture.'; It's extremely difficult to fight culture because ... you live in it. Report Abuse
No it's difficult for you b/c you are weak. Report Abuse
LMFAO. That's funny. Then I guess every human being on earth is ';weak'; because we're ALL NECESSARILY AFFECTED BY OUR CULTURES. Get over it. Report Abuse
Vwgirl, while women in the art of the Renaissance were certainly not as slender as models of today (the contemporary phenomenon seems to be pretty isolated), the women were generally rather slender.
It is during the Baroque period that we see so many women that would today be labeled ';obese';. And this has more to do with the shift from draughtsmanly to painterly aesthetics than with notions of health or wealth.
Anyone who gave me a thumbs down for just reporting facts about art history needs to get over themselves.
In the renaissance times, bigger women were considered more beautiful. It meant they were healthier.
I think the media and magazines are just a scapegoat. Sure, they present unrealistic images of 'the perfect woman', selecting painfully thin models and airbrushing any blemishes away. But in the end, we all have choice...thats what feminism brought us. We don't have to look at those magazines, and we don't have to be lemmings.
I think its easier to blame others for our lack of self control or our self loathing.
Um. Do you know that standards of beauty are culturally subjective and historically contingent. Try looking at this from a not-totally-Eurocentric point of view. ';Beauty'; means considerably different things to women around the world.
No, unfortunately, the currently popular ';dead corpse'; look has not been men's preferred standard of beauty for ';as long as we've been sentient.';

so I guess you're saying that if you're told over and over again that you're stupid (or not good enough) it won't eventually have an effect (especially on teenage girls)
I know some shrinks who may disagree with you.
Uh, not the same standards, and usually not unrealistic (without major surgery). That is, actual women were themselves standards, not re-touched photos of re-arranged faces and bodies.
The feminist have a problem with attractive/beautiful looking women, that's why.
actually, standards of beauty have changed quite a bit over time, there has always been ';standards'; but they haven't always been the same. additionally, most women didn't have repeated daily exposure (ie, pressure to conform) to those standards the way they do these days, from the media, magazines, etc. the overexposure, in addition to the present ultra-thin (below healthy BMI) standards i feel is damaging to young girls who are just developing their sense of self %26amp; worth. *I* don't personally have any image issues, but it is a problem among the young. girls as young as 7 battle anorexia; even boys struggle with it. i think it even contributes to the obesity to some extent--some kids just totally give up trying to look ';perfect'; so they ';let themselves go'; in a way.
personally, i think healthy should tie into the standards of beauty. then i wouldn't have an issue with the ';overexposure'; to those standards.

Parents of young children (3-10) What are your thoughts about children's beauty pageants?
Are they for the benefit of the child or to pump up the parent's ego? Are moms living vicariously through their daughters when they push for this kind of competition? Are little girls meant to be ';dolled'; up with make up and clothing that makes them look like little adults. Is this a form of exploitation? Are we sending the wrong message to our children?Parents of young children (3-10) What are your thoughts about children's beauty pageants?
i have watched some of these reality shows on tv and boy does it make me mad. the way the parents talk to the kids, the money they spend, and the reaction of the kids if they dont win.. or the reaction of the parents if the child dosnt want to do it...its very sad and wrong on so many levels. the parents are doing this for themself, not the children.Parents of young children (3-10) What are your thoughts about children's beauty pageants?
I think it can depend on many different things:
~the age of the child...anything under the age of 7, to me, seems too young
~If the mom is willing to stop as SOON as the child wants, then it's for the child, and that is ok
~As long as it's for fun, and not something that the child is being forced into doing, then it's fine
~If the child can compete without wearing all of that make-up and can just be a child, then that is even better!
I, personally, wouldn't have an issue with it if my child was old enough, and only wanted to do it for fun. It's not something I would make a habit or ';career'; of.
Cute little pageants at a small town festival are fine, if the child wants to do it. When you start seeing these parents who push their kids into wearing little mini-adult clothes, caking on the make-up to make them look like barbie dolls, and forcing them to grow up before their time then it is SSSOOOOOO wrong. I don't believe that these girls should be traveling the country to participate in these pageants. Let them decide if this is what they want to do when they are old enough to make up their own minds and make rational decisions!!!
Yes we are sending the wrong message. Really kids grow up fast enough. Why make them go thur all this stuff. I don't like it. if kids want to dress up send them to acting with people there own age. or a dance place. but please don't make them grow up to fast. This is my opinion and i think it sends the wrong message to them. and some parents want this because of there self. thanks. Also children are awful young and when they say things like mom dad why why do i have to do this. think what they are really saying. this is all wrong for them they are still growing let them grow up right not wrong.
i have a 7 year old daughter who is in pageants. we started them to help her get over her shyness. it has worked and it has done no harm to my daughter. she understands that sometimes she will win and sometimes she will not. (she has won one and lost about 5) she does not care if she wins or not, she just likes doing them. and she knows that the first time she cries because she did not win then she will do no more pageants. as long as it is what the child wants to do then i see nothing wrong with it. i do not think the child should be forced.
What makes us beautiful is whats with us. We as parents help our children feel beautiful from the inside out. Until someone can feel beautiful from the inside out they should not be placed in to those type of Pagents.
IF MY CHILD IS BEAUTIFUL THEN I'M BEAUTIFUL, RIGHT?
RIGHT?!?!

If Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, then who is the god of courage?
If there were a golden apple for the most courageous of them all, then who would be the contestants (like Hera, Aphrodite and Athene in the contest for beauty).
Answers welcome from all kinds of mythology and folklore, not necessarily Greek...If Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, then who is the god of courage?
Athena (or Pallas, to use her ';real name';) was worshipped as the goddess of military courage in Athens, but not in all of Greece.
Otherwise, for Greek goddesses I'd go with Artemis (or Ilythia in some Greek city states), the goddess of childbirth. Having kids in a place with no IV painkillers, high infant mortality, constant war and natural disasters and wild wolves around- THAT'S courage.
The Greeks also had a god of courage: Arete (Roman equivalent was Virtus).
The Hindu god of courage is Hanuman, who has the head of a monkey. His mother was a monkey/human hybrid and his father was, depending on the source, either the Wind or Shiva (though Hanuman is sometimes said to be an incarnation of Shiva as well). If Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, then who is the god of courage?
HERCULES ! HERCULES ! HERCULES !
heros
Depends what you mean by the the word '' courage'' Hercules is half god ''hemitheos'' and completing his works he prooved that he was very courageous. Aris is the god of war, and since you need courage to fight you could say he was the god of courage. Estia is the goddess of the familly life and as we know familly really needs a lot of courage to run. Promitheas stole the gift of fire from gods and shared it with people and was punished for that in eternity. That also requires courage.
In Greek mythology, Ares was the ';brutal'; aspect of the war: he was always accompanied by Enyo ( massacre) Dimo (Fear) Fobo (Terror) Eis ( struggle).
Ares was strong..but was defeated by the the ';careful'; courage of Athena.
In Latin Mythology Mars was the god of war and he was accompanied by Honos (honour) and Virtus (value).
The Sabinian god of war was Quirinus, corresponding to Mars.
ok Hera should DEFF. win for courage.

How do you start if in beauty paegant contest they ask to describe about yourself?
just stand before mirror and say wot u see :)
Is there a relationship between physical beauty and happiness?
No. Sometimes an unusually attractive person feels like they have to live up to everybody's standards of beauty. They feel pressured to look perfect all the time.
People also make baseless assumptions about them, such as pretty girls are stupid and easy. Being constantly hit on by guys who only want to get in your pants is no picnic.
I do think, however, that unusually unattractive people are equally miserable. There's a regular in GWS who is convinced that women don't like him because of his looks. I'm sure he looks fine (I've never seen his picture), but feeling insecure about your looks is not going to lead to happiness. Is there a relationship between physical beauty and happiness?
Note, this is personal conjecture. I am not a psychologist.
To some extent, sure. No matter how much we might like to claim otherwise, we're programmed by society (particularly in Western Society) to find physical attractiveness desirable, to a much greater extent than might occur naturally because of our genes.
Especially when we're younger, say in high school, and trying to find our place in the world, great importance is placed on physical appearance rather than skills, aptitude, or any other attribute. Those who are less-attractive or who suffer from acne might very well feel upset, depressed, or otherwise unhappy, while the more attractive people lead a life of comparative luxury, being with the ';popular'; crowd, and having the romantic/sexual interests of a greater number of people.
As is the case with many things in high school, much of this likely carries on into later life.

If this election reallly were a beauty contest, do you think McCain would have lost by a landslide?
Voters should definitely vote on issues first. However, standing side by side, McCain is definitely not the most handsome candidate. If this election was based putely on beauty and looks, wouldn't McCain lose? and badly? If this election reallly were a beauty contest, do you think McCain would have lost by a landslide?
Unless it was a beauty contest at the local retirement homeIf this election reallly were a beauty contest, do you think McCain would have lost by a landslide?
Obviously Obama would win a beauty contest with McCain. But if it was an integrity contest, Obama would probably get only one vote, and that only if Michelle was allow to vote.
I saw a picture of McCain when he was young, and he was actually very handsome. And I don't think Obama is that good looking. In terms of beauty, Hillary would definately beat both of them.
Obama gonna whip McCain with a Bush.
';If this election reallly were a beauty contest, do you think McCain would have lost by a landslide?';
YES!! That's one thing in Obama's favor.
But thank God it will be the other way around.
Can't believe you find the guy with those willow arms why if you put a feather in his nose he could fly
lol yes i mean look at that one side of the cheek that droops to the other side like a sad puppy
I disagree.
I don't find Obama handsome. Cindy would win over Michelle for sure.
It's not his fault he had skin cancer.
stupid shallow question.
