If Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, then who is the god of courage?

If there were a golden apple for the most courageous of them all, then who would be the contestants (like Hera, Aphrodite and Athene in the contest for beauty).

Answers welcome from all kinds of mythology and folklore, not necessarily Greek...If Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, then who is the god of courage?
Athena (or Pallas, to use her ';real name';) was worshipped as the goddess of military courage in Athens, but not in all of Greece.

Otherwise, for Greek goddesses I'd go with Artemis (or Ilythia in some Greek city states), the goddess of childbirth. Having kids in a place with no IV painkillers, high infant mortality, constant war and natural disasters and wild wolves around- THAT'S courage.

The Greeks also had a god of courage: Arete (Roman equivalent was Virtus).

The Hindu god of courage is Hanuman, who has the head of a monkey. His mother was a monkey/human hybrid and his father was, depending on the source, either the Wind or Shiva (though Hanuman is sometimes said to be an incarnation of Shiva as well). If Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, then who is the god of courage?
HERCULES ! HERCULES ! HERCULES !
heros
Depends what you mean by the the word '' courage'' Hercules is half god ''hemitheos'' and completing his works he prooved that he was very courageous. Aris is the god of war, and since you need courage to fight you could say he was the god of courage. Estia is the goddess of the familly life and as we know familly really needs a lot of courage to run. Promitheas stole the gift of fire from gods and shared it with people and was punished for that in eternity. That also requires courage.
In Greek mythology, Ares was the ';brutal'; aspect of the war: he was always accompanied by Enyo ( massacre) Dimo (Fear) Fobo (Terror) Eis ( struggle).

Ares was strong..but was defeated by the the ';careful'; courage of Athena.

In Latin Mythology Mars was the god of war and he was accompanied by Honos (honour) and Virtus (value).

The Sabinian god of war was Quirinus, corresponding to Mars.
ok Hera should DEFF. win for courage.
