I was just wondering if anyone has ever been in a pageant? Are there alot of you? Men, Women, Kids, whether its national or just a local thing... And how was it?Has anyone been in a beauty pageant before?
I was in a couple when I was a teenager. I think they can be really good for girls, as long as you don't have crazy parents that push you into them. Luckily, my parents were very supportive. I won the title in one of them, and the second one I received the most photogenic award. I walked away from both feeling pretty good!Has anyone been in a beauty pageant before?
I think if U want to do it then you should. Just don't expect too much from it and don't let yourself feel like you're any less beautiful inside or out just because you don't walk away with a title. I wish U the best! Report Abuse
Thanks alot!!! I will take your advice :) This will be my first try so I dont expect a whole lot out of this, just the experience and learning... Thanks alot!! Wish me luck next year! Report Abuse
I did those children beauty pageants, ya know the ones that are all ';really horrible';. I admit some of the things I saw and heard were ridiculus, but I met some really cool people and got to win some cool stuff (um like money!)
Well, i signed up for a Most Beautiful Mum To Be pageant and won ;)
Well, I guess it was fun for me cos I am a outgoing person and love being made to look pretty.
It was good exposure and i got to make many frens who are also fellow mummies and I still keep in touch with some of them today. ;)
Miss Universe is a big pageant and i obviosly wasn't in it or anything but i know people who have been in a Miss Teen USA and Canada. It's not just beauty that counts! If you watch Miss Universe, you'll know that there's also a sports competition, a talent competition and a swim suit competition. You gotta know how to walk the right way and how to please the crowd (they vote for who they think should be Miss Universe).
I was in when I was smaller.....I dont think I would do it for my own kids though...
Yeah, I was in a bunch in California when I was a preteen in the late 80s. They were all local city stuff, and I won a few titles.
The only reason I wanted to do them was I wanted to wear the pretty ballroom evening gowns! My mom owned a wedding shop, and pageant girls always came in to order their dresses.
My mom was definitely NOT a stage mother. We did it for fun, but the petty stuff backstage was awful... other girls being mean, mothers being cruel to their daughters and other contestants,etc..
I quit when I discovered acting. I liked being recognized for my acting abilities rather than my looks which had nothing to do with me.
I think pageants are a waste of time and money.
No, because I don't like being judged by my poor looks.
Do baby pageants count? I've won cutest baby but would never do a pageant now.
I was...not of my choosing...won ';miss photogenic';.
My mother pushed me into it, I was very nervous and unhappy about it, and would never try such a thing again, nor force my child to do it.
No, but I did just get a letter asking me to enter Miss Teen USA sponsored by Donald Trump. At first I was grossed out, since he's like 80, but I keep the letter around and laugh at it from time to time.. A lot of girls in Louisiana are beauty pageant freaks.. but you can DEFINITELY count me out of that lol.
ya. a few beauty pagents at college , district n state levels. I've won the title in 3 of them and was runner up in the 4th one.
There was this baby USA thing when I lived in Tacoma, WA my little got 1st place beauty and Miss personality. She had a lot of fun and we didn't USA make up or any silly costumes.
hmmm.... i was when i was 9 months old. i won grand prize in national baby beauty contest. it was a long time ago. all i got was a stupid oil painting of my baby pic. hopefully, the prizes are better now LOL.
